Chapter 1

“The Purple Dancing Slippers”

Chapter 1.

Jamie Adams was a bright, happy, and creative young lady. With a gift for the fine arts, her primary after school hobbies, including cooking, singing, and dancing. Every Wednesday, Jamie participated in a classical ballet class with her friends. Every Friday evening, she would sing in the school’s choir ensemble for the senior citizen center. Every Sunday afternoon she would cook a grand feast with her Mother for the whole family to enjoy. Jamie loved having so many fun activities to participate in with her friends, family, and classmates.

One Sunday morning, Jamie decided to plan and host a recital for her family, where Jamie and her friends would sing and dance for the family. Jamie hurried downstairs to let her friends inside of the house, and into the living room, where they began practicing their routine. After a few minutes, Mother walked through the front door with groceries in her hand and a gold sparkling gift box, that shined brighter than any box Jamie and her friends had ever seen.

After refrigerating the groceries, Mother walked towards Jamie and handed her the box.

Mother said, “I know you love dancing so much, and you are growing out of your old ballet shoes. So, here you go!”

“Thanks mother,” Jamie replied.

As Jamie dramatically, and slowly lifted the cover of the sparkling golden box, a pair of glistening purple ballet slippers smiled at her. Jamie smiled back. Jamie's friends were surprised that the shoes could smile and sparkle so bright. Filled with joy and excitement, Jamie quickly put the shoes on. She pointed her toes in first position, second position, and then fifth position. Jamie's face lit up with joy as she plie’ and spun in a circle in her purple slippers.

“I love them so much,” Jamie said. “Thank you!”

Mother replied, “You're welcome, sweetheart. It's wonderful that you already enjoy them so much.” After Jamie and Mother gave each other big hugs and kisses, Jamie's friends joined in the hugging as well. Then, Mother headed to the kitchen to start preparing the usual Sunday family dinner.

Jamie and her friends returned to practicing their routine for the evening’s recital. A second after starting up the vinyl record player and taking their starting positions, Jamie and her friends noticed that the purple slippers began to magically glow. They stopped and stared at the shoes for a few moments, but later continued practicing again once the glowing had stopped. After a few more minutes of rehearsal, the slippers began glowing again, but this time they began dancing on their own. Jamie could not control her feet. Jamie and her friends panicked, but a few seconds later after they held onto Jamie, it stopped. They returned to practicing. After 40 good minutes of rehearsal, Jamie's friends began packing their bags, with smiles, excited for their evening recital and family feast. As they said their goodbyes, Jamie's shoes smiled at the friends, glowed up, and began dancing again. This time, the shoes did not stop dancing.

The friends’ eyes widened as the front door turned into a bright yellow light. They shouted in amazement, as they were magically transported through the yellow vortex, while Jamie continued dancing, unable to control her feet.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
