The Witch Delpa and the Family Curse
My great-grandfather Blago experienced a sickness that did not happen by accident. This is a story from my family. There was a woman named Delpa, and the people said she was a witch. When my great-grandfather Blago got sick, it wasn't a normal illness.
The family took him to a healer (vrača). The healer told them: "The one who did this to him will come to your house to ask for something, but you must not let her in." The next day, Delpa came. She was looking for soap from the bathroom. The family didn't want to let her in, but she forced her way inside and took it.
My great-grandfather died. When Delpa later died, no one wanted to take her body to the cemetery because people were afraid. My grandfather was the one who eventually took her to the graveyard with a van to bury her. That woman always did evil.
