Chapter 1: Entering the Decepticons
My name is Marion, I'm 14 years old and I live in France. I have good friends, and my life is good too, except... I don't have a boyfriend!
"-Why don't I have anyyyy?!
-What's with this obsession?Charlotte, the mother of the group, asked me.
-It's just that when we were in 6th, 5th, or 4th grade, the 3rd graders were in relationships, (I stop), nobody is in a relationship.
-That's true, Julie affirms, it's strange.
-We don't care whether we are or not, adds Marie.
-You say that because you're in a relationship.
-Not wrong."
Charlotte sat down on the bench, joining Claire, Julie, Marie, and me. It was cold today, especially the wind.
"-When do we eat?
-I think...uh...what day is it? said Julie
-It's Friday, so first."
The timing was perfect; a supervisor called the 3rd B class. I really didn't want to be in 3rd C; I always ate in B. My group of friends, including me, got up and went to the cafeteria. I just handed over the soap because I was too lazy. Then we waited.
"-The English teacher is taking advantage of us by making us learn the lesson, says Marie.
-Well, I never learn that.
-And then, I'm too lazy!
-Ah! There is, my crush! I point towards my crus
-Seriously?!
-Well, he is beautiful."
Leo nie, another friend, joins us.
"-Oh, hey! There's my crush, he's hot, right?
-Hm.. He's alright! Leonie confirms.
-You see? I shrug towards Charlotte.
-Oh dear..."
We took the tray and cutlery. We could consider ourselves lucky because we had a choice. I took eggs, a muffin, and the main course: sausage and mashed potatoes and bread. Then we sat down.
I made my sandwich right away: egg, salad, mayonnaise, bread. It's very good, try it and see! I put it in a napkin and in my pocket. I had eaten a little, but the mashed potatoes still tasted bad. So, in reality, I had eat a little. When we had all finished, we went outside and found a bench. I was lost in thought, so I was silent and my gaze was vacant.
"-Are you alright? a voice asked; it was Charlotte's.
-Oh, yes.
-Hm. (She had an expression that meant I shouldn't lie)
-Okay, fine. Celya annoys me. I like her, mind you. But when something's wrong, she starts crying.
-I see. (Silence). Tell her, she'll understand.
-I tried.
-And?
-Nothing"
I sigh. If only she wouldn't get offended. I take out my sandwich and eat it. That lunchtime I was annoyed (half annoyed)
The days have passed.
Today is mid-September and...the Patent exam is coming up!!
"-Too lazy to revise! Talent alone, I assure. (i don't got talent).
-You should revise, Laura told me.
-No. If only a man could come and save me before this mock exam, I said.
-Shut up.
-Your mouth, you"
I cross my arms on the bench and sulk. I wish it would happen, and it did.
Basically, we did a mock exam. I won't even mention my disastrous grades; I didn't even pass the mock exam. That talent just wasn't there. What happened was that on Tuesday, at 1:30 p.m... quick explanation: in the morning only at 9 a.m. we took science and mathematics, in the afternoon we had no classes. So on Tuesday, at 1:30 pm I was waiting with my friends in front of the gate just after we had collected our bags and taken out our communication books.
"-Finally!! I hope I get a good grade. Honestly, Monday's French was easy (really), I declare.
-Yes. I expected that we would ask for the functions etc... list Celya.
-History, geography, and civic education... I'm good at history except for the extended answer; we'll see about geography and civic education, I affirm.
-I messed up the History, said Marie.
-Cheh. After the tech question, I didn't answer, just like with physics. And I'm basically terrible at physics today, it was a disaster, I declared.
-Clearly."
The school bell rings, we go to the gate, show our notebooks and leave.
"-I want to die and do absolutely nothing all day.
-Seriously. No homework, Charlotte sighed.
-Nothing, whispers Julie.
-Sleep, Celya announces, or play video games.
-We're not following you.
-Bye!"
We greet each other and go our separate ways. I check to make sure there are no cars. I cross the road to go to the parking.
A red car, an Aston Martin 177, is the only one, all alone. I look to the left. Then to the right. Then this beauty. I approach slowly, then quickly. I touch the door delicately, as if it might break. The details are incredible, so detailed it's astonishing.
I get up and turn around. I stumble, and instead of falling against the car, I land on a car seat. This seat slides onto the driver's seat in the process, and my head got hit. The door closes, the car starts, and the driver fastens my seatbelt.
"-A car that drives without my interaction...cool and creepy."
The steering wheel, or rather a small symbol that I can't describe, lights up slightly and flashes when the words come out:
"-Sorry, little human, about your head (the voice sounds male and a bit... robotic?) Are you okay?
-Yes, I think so. As long as I'm not bleeding, everything's fine.
-You humans, could bleed for that?
-However, if the impact is very violent, such as a fall from a great height, it can cause a cerebral concussion.
-Concussion?
-Forget it, it doesn't make sense. But, you see?
-I see.
-Good.
-Little human, you are Marion, right?
-Yes.
-Good then!
-And, you are?
-Knockout. Medic of the Decepticons. A robot, basically.
-It doesn't exist.
-Yes.
-No.
-Yes, yes.
-No, no.
-I'm telling you yes.
-And im telling no.
-Anyways.
-Yes, anyways. Where are you taking me?
-At Nemesis. In America.
-What?(Was actually in English in my text written in French)
-In America.
-I understand. But why?? I have a life, friends!
-He knows. But he doesn't care.
-He?
-He.
-Who is he?
-Who is who?
-You're ignoring me, Knockout.
-You'll find out, Marion."
He was driving in Beauvais towards the airport. There, he gave me my fake passport and suitcases (from the trunk) through the glove compartment.
"-I took the liberty of packing your things. Clothes, books. I wish you a good trip!
-Wait! Aren't you coming?
-We'll meet there, yes, but I'm coming with the other cars."
Then we separated temporarily. I did everything that needed to be done and sat in my seat next to someone..
I was stressed, I never had took the plane.
I'll skip the details of my trip. I slept and ate
Arriving there, the sun and the heat made me feel like a kid (which I kind of am). Knockout opened the door and I got in. He drove off. Obviously nothing rang a bell. Just little things like car dealerships, like in the movies.
Then we arrived in a small town, in a desert, or rather next to a desert.
"-Is this Jasper in Nevada, I asked my instinct told me yes, but I had doubts.
-Yes! You know it well!
-Thank.
-You're welcome."
Then a blue-green and multi-colored thing appeared. The car picked it up and we found ourselves in a place.
Corridors, doors, violent blackness. Creepy. He opened the door for me and I went downstairs, then he took his robot form.
Primarily red. The gray on its thighs and joints indicated its Vehicle mode. Its eyes were red, but human whites appeared black to him. His facial skin was white. He was taller, but not THAT tall.
"-Here we are at the Nemesis (he picked me up and put me on his shoulder). The warship. The "thing" I took is called a land bridge, or a space bridge, you choose.
-Terrestrial for Earth and spatial for space?
-Exactly! You'll see, there are a lot of us. A good hundred or more.
-Wow.
- Hm-Hm! I'm going to introduce you to Breakdown!"
Knockout started to run, but his hands held me. He entered a room, the Medbay, which resembled a treatment room. A robot, blue but also with grey on some parts of its body. The doctor patted it. The robot turned, its eyes yellow. And its facial skin orange.
"-Oh, Knockout. Megatron was looking for you; he thought you were taking too long.
-I was talking to her.
-Knockout. Megatron is he?
-He is he.
-What??, Breakdown asks, perplexed.
-A joke between us, the doctor and I answer together.
-Ook. The lord is in the command room."
The doctor led me away, humming a tune. I grabbed one of his ears (which resembled those of elves) to attract his attention.
"-What is it?
-Megatron..
-Optimus's enemy. And commander of that ship. He led our planet to war."
Not another word after that. We arrived at the hall.
A robot about 11 meters tall, gray with a touch of purple, and red eyes was there. A purple cannon on its right arm was staring at me. The scariest thing was its size. But since it was bigger than Knockout, I was tiny.
"-Finally"
His voice was deep, sadistic, cruel, merciless. He approached. He stopped facing the two of us. Knockout's head was slightly against the leader's chest.
"-Give her to me."
His long, pointed fingers unfolded, and his hand was open. The doctor, Knockout, picked me up and placed me on his hand. His fingers closed slightly around me, but not enough to crush me. The chief raised his hand until I was level with his head
"-Little human, you are very... pretty (the fingers of her other hand gently patted my head) Well, squishy. (He pinched my stomach gently) Absolutely perfect.
-Who..are you?
-Knockout didn't tell you anything?, he looked at the doctor sternly, which made Knockout step back)
-Wait!, I scream making all the robots in the room stare at me, i mean..."
Megatron used one of his fingers and lifted my chin.
"-You have character. A lot of it.
-I...didn't...want...uh?
-Speak. Go ahead, the chief urges me.
-Knockout explained to me who you are just...a reflex?
-A reflex?
-Yes, i nod.
-Hm.."
He purrs, rather; its head movement resembles a purr.
"-So? Knockout began
-My mind is not changing.
-Explain, pls?
-Aah, Knockout sighed. Explain it to her, Lord, he said with a smile.
-Little human. From this day forward, you will live here, sleep here. You will be able to give orders or kill anyone. You are my wife, my spouse."
I was amazed.
I became the wife of a robot.
Without wanting it.
