Between Thunder and Marble

Summary

After the violent death of her mother during a home robbery in Louisiana, seventeen-year-old Khalessi Moores is sent back to Forks, Washington, to live with her godfather, Charlie Swan. Cold, rain-soaked, and haunted by memories she tried to bury years ago, Forks is the last place she wants to be. But grief has changed Khalessi into someone sharper, angrier, and far more dangerous than the girl who once left the town behind. While trying to survive her final year at Forks High, Khalessi reconnects with her childhood best friend, Paul Lahote, whose chaotic loyalty quickly becomes one of the few things keeping her grounded. But Forks is hiding more secrets than she remembers. The deeper she’s pulled into the strange tension surrounding La Push and the mysterious Cullens, the harder it becomes to ignore that something unnatural is lurking beneath the surface of the town. Especially when she finds herself drawn toward both Rosalie Hale and Emmett Cullen in ways that are equally intoxicating and dangerous. As old wounds reopen and supernatural threats begin circling closer, Khalessi must decide who she wants to become: the grieving girl destroyed by tragedy, or someone strong enough to survive Forks-- and everything waiting for her there.
