"Cruelty and kindness has been depicted so evocatively in this book. Hope the ending is not disturbing. Reading about young people facing abuse from their own parents makes me wonder whether this is an exception or a rule in America. Are children /young adults not provided shelter if they have no place to stay.A thought provoking book."
