Claire
My feet hurt…I didn’t have time to wear my shoes.The street is glowing with night lights.The place is lively with people, mostly children.I spot a huge giant wheel.Its a little far from where I am standing right now. I see many children and their families heading towards that place.
I guess its safe for me to go to that place.for now….I’m running towards it. The more nearer I go,the more dazzeling lights were showering on me.
I’m panting…sweat leaving my skin,shining with a silver glow from the lights of this place.I have still not reached the entrance.
What is this place?.
maybe a fair.That’s when I see the big grand entrance.The name FUNFAIR was written with gigantic letters.So it’s a fair…just like I thought.I’m glad I’ve found this place.No one can find me here.Because this place is swarmed with people.
The thought of getting caught by the guards doesn’t scare me,but by him?…a shiver is sent to my spine. I sigh…finally taking a deep breath and pushing all the thoughts of getting caught aside.
I’m now entering the fair…I look in awe after seeing this place . I have never been to such places even as a kid.
This place is so huge.Fancy lights filling every corner of the place. There are so many shops.Some are selling cotton candies and varieties of street food.I never had the chance of eating street food.I wonder how it’ll taste.
My eyes widen with awe when I see a man who is holding a beautiful girl whose wearing a dashing red color gown bought her a huge blue color cotton candy.My mouth started watering when I see her eating it.I look away and start moving.I see an another shop,it seems like a clothing store.I stop in front of the shop,looking towards a stunning yellow gown with floral design on the display.
A women in her 40′s wearing a black sleevless top and brown skirt with a big black hat is standing in front of the shop.She called towards me.“You’ve got a good eye” she said smiling at me.I think she is the owner of this shop.
“This dress is beautiful” I replied.“Indeed”she said looking softly towards me.“I’m sorry I was just passing by…I don’t have any money”I said awkwardly.She smiled at me and said”Don’t worry darling,I don’t cost you for having a trail”.
I was surprised.“Really…?can I try this dress once?“I asked her with so much excitement.
“Yes” .She laughed watching my excitement.We went inside of the shop.Its bright as a day here inside.I see many dresses neatly arranged in the shelves.“This place is busy in the night time than the day time.Mostly because everyone enjoys the night lights of the fun fair.“she said.“yeah...its really beautiful.
I have never seen a place like this before”I replied while she handed me the yellow dress I liked and showed me the way to trail room.“thank you”I smiled at her.
She smiled back.I went to the trail room and removed my pair of blue jeans and fitted blue T shirt.I wore the yellow dress she’s given me.It fits me perfectly.I look at the mirror inside the trail room.I feel so beautiful wearing this dress.I step outside the trail room and show my dress to her.“Oh my god…you look so beautiful in that dress”she said.“thank you so much…uh…may I know your name?“I asked. “I’m Maria” she replied. “I’m Claire.Its nice to meet you maria”I smiled.she smiled back.Then I returned that dress back to her and I am back in my pair of blue jeans and my Tshirt.
I step out of the store.Maria said that I can keep the yellow dress, but I kindly refused.I don’t want to trouble her or owe to her,so I returned her dress.As I step outside the store I see two men who are wearing black suits talking while facing each other.They have walky talkys with them.
Are they guards?.
My heart is pounding in my chest that I can listen to my own heartbeat.
Why are they here?.
How did they know I was here?
Does he know that I’m here?.
I’m choking on my own breath.I run towards the crowd while catching my breath.Fear consuming me like a black cloud in the sky as if it’s right above my head.I run inside a shop which seems more like a toy store.But there is one guard standing by a table.But this time he saw me and immediately informing others about me through his walky talky.
I panicked,breathing shakily,I ran outside the shop and I’m running faster.Even though I’m not looking back, I know for sure that the guard is following me.He is almost catching up to me until I saw the giant wheel ride in front of me.
Strangely,its not moving.Maybe they are waiting for people to fill the giant wheel.A man came to me and said “Please step inside madam”.I don’t know why but the way he talks feels weird.But I did not buy the ticket to ride this.
I saw that guard who was after me , asking some strangers whether they have seen me.I didn’t have the time to think about the ticket or about the weird guy standing infront of me.So,I stepped inside the cart.And the wheel started moving.Strangely I don’t see anyone expect me and a strange guy sitting inside the cart.But I cant see his face properly as its dark inside our cart.“Well…hello there” he said.I don’t know why,but his voice is so familiar.
Wait…is it…Him?
