Yashahime Act III Part I

“Hey there! How’s it going?! Moroha here! Welcome back to the feudal era. It’s been almost two years since the defeat of Kirinmaru and the Grim Butterfly. A lot of things have happened since then. After Towa, Setsuna, and I finished our quest in the western lands, we all decided it was time to stay home for a bit. Get to know our parents. You know things like that.  Towa and Setsuna have been spending time with their mom a lot. Sesshomaru hasn’t really changed that much. He does spend time with the girls, buuut he does it by training with them.😅🤷‍♂️ 

Oh! Speaking of training I’ve been doing a bit of that myself. Dad and I go out on demon hunting quests to help other nearby villages, and on our spare time we have one on one sparring matches! They’re fun and I’ve gotten a lot better with my swordsmanship. 

Mom has been training me in the ways of a priestess too! I now can erect a small  barrier around myself to protect myself, learned more powerful sealing with my arrows and she’s also helped me learn how to focus my spiritual energy better. I have the most awesome parents! Though here lately Mom and I have been butting heads a lot recently. Over the smallest things. She’s just been a little overbearing. Being more worried about me than usual. It’s just a bit much at times. My 16th birthday is coming up and she did say she wanted to have a party of some kind. I’ve never celebrated my birthday before so I kinda don’t know how to feel about it. I am excited it just feels strange to me and…”

“Hey Moroha!” It’s Dad. “What’s up Dad?” Dad asked me to go with him to a village to help investigate some weird occurrences that have been happening. “Moroha, did you get everything you need before you go?” Kagome asked. “ I got my sword and my bow and arrows. “Yeah I’m good to go mom.” Kagome smiles. “Moroha, I know I’ve probably been a bit much lately.” Kagome’s smile vanished into a concerned look. “Here lately, I have a very off feeling. I just want you to be careful, okay?” The look on my mom’s face kids worried me. I could tell she was really uneasy. “Don’t worry Mom! Dad and I got this!” Moroha said with a big smile on her face. 

“Yeah, Kagome! We’re the dream team! Right Moroha?” Inuyasha said with a big grin on his face. “Right Dad!” Moroha runs over to Kagome and gives her a hug before leaving. Inuyasha and Moroha make their way to the neighboring village. 

“I always love when I get to spend one on one time with my dad. He and I are so alike it’s almost scary. We’re so in sync when we fight together. Makes me realize what I had been missing those fourteen years that my parents were sealed away.”

“You’ve made a lot of progress in our sparring matches Moroha! The training you do with Kagome too!” Inuyasha said with great pride. Moroha began to blush. “Oh, you really think so dad?” Moroha had a look of uncertainty written all over her face. “Well of course! You don’t think you have made any progress?”

“Of course he would ask me that question. See training with dad is completely different than with mom. With dad he’s easy going and laid back. Mom on the other hand is a lot more disciplined and strict especially here lately.”

“I feel like I have made some, but sometimes I feel like I haven’t done enough based on what Mom expects of me.. and here lately it’s been a lot.” Inuyasha looked at his daughter lovingly and patted her head. 

“Whenever we get back home I’ll try and talk to her. Sound like a deal?”

“Thank you, Dad.” 

“Achyoo!” Kagome randomly sneezes. “My, that was quite a sneeze.” Says Kaede. Kagome smiles lightly. “Someone is talking about me is all that means. I’m sure it’s probably Moroha. She’s probably venting to Inuyasha.” Kagome’s smile fades. “Why do you say that?” Kaede asks. Kagome’s hands  go from being relaxed in her lap to clenching her pants. “Well, I’m sure you have noticed that Moroha and I.. well we haven’t been getting along. I’ve been pushing her during training, maybe a little too much.” Kagome’s eyes begin well up. She looks like she’s on the verge of tears. 

“Well child, that comes with all children and their parents. Especially when they are Moroha’s age.” Kaede says calmly. Kagome shakes her head. “There’s more to it than that. I’ve been having these dreams.. no.. more like nightmares really. Reoccurring and it’s always the same thing.” Kagome starts to slightly tremble and a tear falls from her face. 

“Oh? What happens in said nightmares Kagome?” Kaede asks. Kagome puts her head down. Her trembling increased and now a steady flow of tears go down her face. 

In every nightmare, Moroha.. she..” Kagome takes a deep breath. “She what, child. What happens?” Kaede asked while trying to comfort Kagome. Kagome takes another deep breath. “She dies..” 

Inuyasha and Moroha continue on their way. All of a sudden Inuyasha stops and looks over at a river nearby “Moroha, are you hungry?” He asks. “Nah, I’m good Dad! Let’s keep going I want us to get this over with so we can get back home.”  *growling sound* Moroha laughs nervously, while touching her stomach. “Hahahaha. You sure about that?” Inuyasha says with a grin. “No worries. We’re making good time let’s stop to get some food. Let’s go to that river and catch us some fish!” 

Moroha’s face lights up with excitement. “Alright! Cause I’m starving! Haha” they make their way down to the river. “Hey Dad, I bet I can catch more fish than you!😛” Inuyasha laughs. “Oh yeah? Alright challenge accepted!” Inuyasha rolls up his sleeves. “Okay, Dad. Ready? aaand go!”😁

“Have you told Inuyasha about these nightmares?” Kagome wipes her tears away. “No I haven’t yet. I didn’t want to worry him or Moroha. I was hoping they would just go away on their own.” Kaede had a look of realization on her face. Unfortunately Kagome they won’t. Those are not just nightmares you are having. I believe you are having premonitions. How I cannot say for sure but it seems your spiritual awareness has evolved into this.”

Kagome now shocked and confused starts to panic. “Okay, okay. So does this mean I can or meant to stop it from happening?”

“Quite possible, but I cannot say for sure. One thing you must do is tell them or at least tell Inuyasha so precautions can be put in place.” 

*explosion in the distance* 

“What is as that?!” Kagome shouts. Both her and Kaede run outside to see where the explosion came from. “Look there!” It seems to be coming from the village shrine.” Kagome grabs her bow and arrows. “I’m going to go see what caused the explosion. Kaede make sure the villagers stay safe.” 

“Are you sure you’re okay to go alone, Kagome?” Kagome nods her head.  “Very well I understand, but please be careful!” With that Kagome grabs her bow, arrows, and throws on a red robe over herself and heads toward the shrine while Kaede made sure the villagers are safe. Kagome gets to the steps and there’s fire everywhere. 

“I can’t believe the fire spread so fast! Even down the steps. This isn’t a normal explosion. I have to find out what’s causing this!” Kagome runs through the flames and makes her way to the top. She looks around at the destruction. Suddenly the flames start dancing and moving on their own. As if someone or something is controlling them. 

“What’s going on? That’s not normal…” 

“Well, well, well.. what do we have here hmm?” A mysterious voice came from the flames. Suddenly a silhouette forms out of the flames. Then into a man. “If it isn’t the priestess who destroyed the sacred Jewel.” 

“Just who are you and what do you want?” Kagome shouts.

“Who I am doesn’t matter. Now what I’m here for does..” The man slowly points his index finger towards Kagome with a devilish grin.

“You..” 🫵😈🔥
