A Covenant of My Eyes

I have made a covenant with mine eyes,

That they should not behold vanity nor filth.

I shall not walk in the counsel of the perverse,

Nor set my feet upon the path of wickedness.

Wash me, O Lord, in the precious blood of the Lamb,

And make me clean before Thy sight.

Create in me a hunger for Thy holy Word,

That I may seek Thy face both day and night.

Create within me a clean heart, O God,

And renew a right spirit within me.

Teach me Thy ways and lead me in Thy truth,

For apart from Thee, I shall surely wander.

Hide me beneath the shadow of Thy wings,

When temptation draweth near.

Be Thou my refuge in the storm,

And my comfort in every fear.

Keep Thou my feet from stumbling,

And my heart from turning aside.

Hold me fast by Thy mighty hand,

And let me not fall from Thy presence.

Let Thy Word be a lamp unto my feet,

And a light upon my path.

Guide me through the valleys of this life,

Until I rest within Thy courts at last.

For Thou art my refuge and my salvation,

My strength in the hour of temptation.

Let my lips sing praise unto Thy name,

And let my life be a testimony unto Thy glory.

Forever shall I trust in Thee,

For Thy mercy endureth unto all generations.
