The Tall Man
Miya was driving her car through the forest path. That night, she planned to find a good campsite to set up her camping tent. Miya arrived at her destination and parked her car a safe distance from the trees. She left her car behind and walked to the campsite with her camping gear.
After scouting the area for a while she started setting up her tent. The forest was silent. The trees were calm, and not even the sound of a cricket was heard. 20 minutes later she sat down in front of the fire she had lit up using sticks from the fallen tree branches.
It had been a long day for her at work. She wanted to release some stress, and this was her way of doing so. Her mind started to drift off into drowsiness when she heard a sound coming from the trees in front of her. Immediately, she became aware of her surroundings.
Listening carefully to the sounds of the forest the sound of walking was coming closer. “Who is there?!” she shouted but no reply came from the trees. The sound was coming closer to where she was. Afraid she stood up and took her bag which had her belongings and walked away from the camp.
As she walked, she noticed that the sound of walking was gone. Her mind and body were focused on getting to her car but as she walked further away from the camp, her car was nowhere to be found. She started panicking. “Where the heck is it?” Just then, the sound of walking came from behind. She whipped her head around. Standing there menacingly was a tall man. Wasting no time, she ran through the trees.
Behind her, running footsteps were steady trying to catch up to her. She darted behind trees and leapt over bushes then came to a stop behind a big tree. The running stopped and the tall man stood there staring into the darkness. After a while, he walked away. But then Miya's phone rang. Bzzz! Bzzz! Bzzz! “Damn it." she tried to turn her phone off, but it kept ringing. Then she heard crunching leaves next to her. When she looked up the tall man was above her and he was holding an axe. Gah! Everything went black.
