Avenging Angel's MC - Book 9

That night was an early night for everyone. The claimed men went to bed first, mainly because they wanted to catch their women before they fell asleep. They wanted to ask them about going on the mission tomorrow.

Thunder was shocked when Sally said no. She was usually the first one to volunteer. She made him lay down and sat on his stomach, holding a pillow ready to smother the yell she knew he was going to let out when she told him something that she had been anxiously waiting all day to tell him.

“I have something to tell you.” Sally said.

“Okay. Sounds serious.” Thunder said, running his hands up her bare thighs and felt goosebumps rise on her skin.

“I… um…… took a test this morning.” Sally said shyly and watched his face closely and saw hope light his eyes so she felt more confident about what she was about to tell him. “It says positive.” she whispered, praying that he was going to be as happy as she feels. It took a second for realization of what she had said to seep in but when it did, just as she had suspected, he started to yell and she smashed the pillow over his face before anyone heard him.

Sally got scared that she had killed him when he stopped moving and she yanked the pillow away to see him with a huge smile on his face. “Yes?” Thunder asked and Sally nodded but grabbed the pillow again.

“Can we please wait to tell anyone until we can tell them all at once? If you guys are going on a mission, I want to do it before you leave in the morning. Now it’s too late and half the house is already in bed. Besides, I’d like for it to be just us that knows for now.” Sally said as she curled up next to him, laying half on, half off of him. She often slept in this position.

“What made you pee on the stick?” Thunder asked. She used to do it when she was even one day late for her period and had always been disappointed when it came back negative.

“Because I skipped my cycle last month and I’m already over a week late for this month. I haven’t gotten sick yet but I have been feeling queasy in the mornings. I actually peed on 3 of them and they all came back positive so it’s not that the one test was faulty this time. I even went to see Doc and he confirmed it, so he’s the only one that knows besides me and you. I swore him to secrecy too.

I’ve got an appointment with Dr. Stiles next Wednesday to find out how far along I am.” Sally told him. She had been bursting to tell him all day but knew how he would react so she waited until it was their quiet time.

She didn’t even have to ask if he was happy because this is something they had both been praying for, trying for, for over a year now. They had always been so disappointed when she started her cycle every month.

Thunder made love to her that night like she was made of spun glass and she felt the other reason he had gotten his name “Thunder”. It was one that only Sally knew but her husband made her feel like she had been caught in an electrical thunder storm full of static electricity and that feeling of what it feels like when thunder booms right overhead. They both fell asleep tangled together with huge smiles on their faces.

The next morning, everyone was up early and in the dining room when Thunder and Sally came to a stop in the doorway to the dining room. Thunder lifted one hand and whistled to get everyone to pay attention as he slipped his other hand around Sally and pulled her close.

“We’re going to have a baby!” Thunder yelled and the clapping and stomping was almost deafening as everyone reacted to their good news. Everyone was happy for them as they practically floated to the buffet table where those who were standing in line, shook Thunder’s hand and kissed Sally on the cheek, telling them congratulations and they both had such huge smiles on their faces that you could almost count all of their teeth.

“Well, I guess that means that Sally and Thunder won’t be going today. Has anyone said if their women are willing to go?” Apollo asked Atlas, when Tori excused herself to go to the restroom, happily riding her new scooter.

“Yeah, and you are not going to believe this. Marla and Misty and Kalehua all said they would go and of course Autumn wants to go. She said, since Doc won’t be there, we might need her help.

I’ll tell you this only once, Prez, and everyone knows this was my idea so they will be upset with me and now I wish I had kept my mouth shut but I’ve already been warned that if anything happens to any one of our women, this will be the last time any of them will be going. Most of the husbands are not really thrilled with their women going but we all value our man parts so we’re holding our tongues….. for now.

I don’t know if Riggs knows that both his woman AND his daughter have said they would go or not yet. Me, I’m going to make sure the vehicles are ready to go. Please don’t tell him where I am.” Atlas told him.

“Hey, this was not my idea, it was yours so you guys can’t blame me. I know if Tori wasn’t pregnant, she would probably volunteer too and I’d be having fits about it and you can guarantee we’d need a weapons vehicle too.” Apollo grinned at him.

“That’s not a bad idea.” Atlas looked thoughtful and Apollo said, “Hey dude, I was just kidding. You guys have to be careful. You are going into uncharted territory here. The last thing we need is you guys getting into a shootout with these guys. We don’t even really know who they are. All we really know is that the three women said they want out of the situation they are in.

I think I need to gather some more information and you guys might need to go in without your colors. That store will have security cameras and us displaying our colors will lead them right to us and since we are taking a minor across state lines, we could end up in more trouble than we had bargained for. I know I’m definitely not comfortable with us just rushing in there like this. As good as our plan is to get them away safely, I want to make sure trouble doesn’t follow you guys home.” Apollo said.

Apollo pulled out his cell phone as it buzzed in his pocket and he saw an incoming message from Beverly. Apollo looked up to say something to Atlas and saw Riggs standing behind him, with a very unhappy look on his face.

Atlas saw Apollo look up and without asking, he just groaned. “He’s right behind me, isn’t he?” Atlas whispered and Apollo just grinned and nodded at him.

“Brother, I’d like to have a word with you.” Riggs said.

“Riggs, don’t hurt him just yet. I think we need to gather more information before any of us go in on this. I’ll be calling for church soon.” Apollo said as he read Beverly’s message.

“Can I call you in 5 minutes? I’ve only got a very short time to talk but I need to let you know something.” Beverly’s message said.

“I’ll be waiting.” Apollo replied then looked at Atlas and Riggs. “Beverly just let me know that she’s got some information that we need to know. Atlas, you pick the men you want to go with you and then you guys meet me in my office. Bring the women that will be going too.” Apollo said and pushed away from the table. He saw Tori coming back from the restroom and he went to her.

“Baby, I’ve got some stuff I need to take care of right away about this mission. Maybe I can take you to the maternity store after they leave. Okay?” Apollo told her as he bent over to kiss her.

“That’s fine. This scooter really does help to take the pressure off of my back and legs, plus I can move faster than a tortoise and I don’t look like a goose going down the hall.” Tori grinned at him.

“Aww, but you are such a sexy goose!” Apollo teased her.

“I’ll still waddle around in our room, just for you.” Tori reached up and grabbed his ear lobe to pull his head down for a kiss. It was a habit she had been forming lately and he liked it.

While Tori went down to the living room with most of the other women, Apollo went to his office to wait for Beverly’s call. As promised, he had barely sat down at his desk when his phone rang.

He answered “Beverly?”

“Yes. Look I’m going to have to talk fast because I don’t know how much time I have before they come back. I found out that they are going to send one man to watch over us while we shop. Two of the others are going on a big flatbed truck to pick up supplies they need and then they will come back to where we will be for some farm stuff they need. Mostly animal feed. There will be 3 men going and us 3 women. We are supposed to pick out what we need and then one of the men will come in and pay for everything all at once. Does that help?” Beverly said.

“Yes, it does. Do any of the men carry guns?” Apollo asked.

“Yes. They all have side arms. They don’t carry the rifles outside of the compound that I have seen.” Beverly said.

“Have you ever been in that store before?” Apollo asked.

“No. They haven’t let us go to town except to the grocery store and I don’t live in this town so I don’t know what’s around here.” Beverly said.

“I’m going to try to talk fast so that you know what is going to happen but if you have to go, just say “Go” and I’ll know you can’t talk anymore. Okay?” Apollo asked.

“Okay. Hurry.” Beverly said.

“We are not going to wear our colors because we could be identified later. Our sizes are going to make us stand out enough as it is, therefore, only one of our men is going to enter the store unless he needs back up. Hopefully, we will enter the store after you arrive.

There will be three or four women coming in to collect you. They will meet you in the shoe department. Try to stay together. They will only talk to you if you are alone and they will tell you they are with the AAMC.

One of our men is going to distract the man in the store with you. He’s going to try to at least get him to turn his back on you. If there is more than one man, then there will be a man to distract him too.

Once you are alone, one of our women will discreetly scan you to make sure you don’t have any tracking devices on you that you might not know about. Did they give you that phone or is it yours?”

“No! This is mine. They don’t know I have it or I wouldn’t still have it. They took Chelsea’s and Charity’s phones away from them when they brought them to the compound.” Beverly said.

“Good. But we need to be sure they haven’t bugged you some other way. Just stand still and let them run the device over you. Be prepared to lose something if it flashes an alarm. Our man will keep the man with you busy while this is going on. They may do it while you are trying on shoes so just act natural. Don’t put on anything that has to be paid for. We don’t want anyone being accused of stealing or of having to stop to pay for anything.

Hopefully our man will be able to lead him away from you to give our women time to get you out, probably out a back or side door, whatever is easiest for them to get you out of the store without being seen as much as possible. We are going to get there early and will have escape vehicles parked all around the building. Just do as the women say. Do not run by yourself. Are you sure it’s just the 3 of you?” Apollo explained.

“Yes. The mothers are dealing with the kids coming down with colds. Apollo, I hate to push but they are planning to have the wedding Sunday morning. Poor Chelsea is terrified.

The man that has claimed her is a fat, hairy pig and more than twice her age. He’s already told her that he’s going to get her pregnant as soon as possible. She’s only 17 for Christ sake!

I know if it was me that had to marry that asshole, I’d tie a rope around my neck and jump off a chair. He’s truly disgusting.” Beverly said.

“Well, is she from Idaho?” Apollo asked.

“No. She’s actually from Portland but she ran from an abusive father. The poor kid has some mean scars and open wounds on her back from where he beat her with a strap.” Beverly said.

“Okay. We’re going to come tonight so that we can get the lay of the land but my people will be there to get you in the morning.” Apollo assured her.

“Good. I’ve got to go. They are coming back.” Beverly said and she hung up.

Apollo sat and thought about what she had told him as he typed out a text calling Atlas to his office. “Bring all of the people going with you.”

While he waited, he checked out his email. Thankfully there was no request for help and he found it kind of strange that he had not had another “call” from Haven, but was thankful at the same time. He went over his to do list, checked off things that had been completed and reviewed what still had to be done.

Unfortunately, the to-do list was longer than the done list but thankfully that list was fairly short and mostly included things he needed to do for or with Tori. He was determined to spend more time with her, to take her to pick out not only her belly harness but to look at baby furniture.

Since no one had arrived yet, he called Paul, the architect. Paul answered on the second ring. “Paul Jergenson”, he answered.

“Hey Paul. It’s Apollo from the AAMC. How are you?” Apollo greeted him.

“Hey, Apollo. I’m good. How about you? I’ve got a feeling you’ve got some changes coming for the plans on the expansion?” Paul said, with a chuckle.

“Well, some but what I really want to talk to you about is doing some immediate changes to the current clubhouse. Have I told you that we found out Tori is going to have twins?” Apollo said.

“No, you didn’t. Wow! Congratulations big guy! That’s great! So what do you need from me?” Paul asked.

“Well, long story short is that we moved our bedroom down stairs. Flash’s wife, Gloria, is expecting too and they took another downstairs room so that the women would not have to deal with the stairs. The downstairs rooms are not as big as the ones upstairs and while we’ll have the babies in our room for a little while when they first come home from the hospital, having the furniture in there is really going to fill up the rooms fast.

Both of our wives are due about a month apart and already want to start buying the things we will need but we need nurseries built first. There are actually two other couples that have small children or babies and more on the way soon. We have several downstairs units that are currently not used much that could be turned into temporary units for couples with children now until the expansion is built but also for when we have rescue’s with children come in too.

We’ve all talked and decided that until the new expansion is done, we want to take one room and make two nurseries out of it. We’ll completely gut the room and make two separate rooms and we want smaller kid friendly bathrooms that will make it as easy as possible to deal with bathing infants and toddlers. One room would be for our twins and one would be for Flash and his family.

We also got some money in the form of a new grant that is going to allow us to build a “Women’s Center” and I want to talk to you in more depth about what we want in it as well as the new expansion we want to do for us.

I also want to relocate our front entrance to make the halls shorter. We need to expand our kitchen and dining room and the infirmary all need to be updated.” Apollo said, trying to think of all the things that they need Paul’s help with designing.

“Wow. Sounds like you guys are going to be very busy next spring.” Paul said.

“Well, for the nursery and some of the changes we want to do to the existing building, I’m hoping we can do the work during the winter because it’s mostly inside stuff and we are going to need it to be completed before the women give birth.” Apollo said hopefully.

“Well, I need to come see what you are talking about doing and then I can come up with a design. When are you available?” Paul asked.

“Well, I’ve got stuff going on for today and this weekend but if you could come around one day next week around lunch time, I’ll feed you too.” Apollo said, leaving the ball in his court to pick a day and time.

“I’ve got something planned for Monday but I could come Tuesday. I’m wrapping up my last job and have been playing around with some designs of what you told me you wanted for the expansion but it’s not finished yet. Have you decided on a lot of changes there?” Paul asked.

“Yeah, kind of. A lot of the men have found their life partners and we all want apartments where we can start our families. I know Tori and I want a spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom place at least. It’s turning into an apartment complex for our families instead of worrying about housing the rescue victims. We can use what we have in the current club house for them. We just need to make some changes to the rooms here but that’s mostly furnishings.

Some of the guys are wanting stand alone homes so we are looking at that too but that’s down the line and it will be up to them to talk to you. The club will supply the land and the labor but they have to pay for the supplies for the buildings.” Apollo said.

Just then a knock came at his door. “Come in” he called out and then told Paul, “Hey, I need to get off of here. Some of the guys are going on a rescue today and I have to meet with them before they leave.”

“Okay. I’ll see you Tuesday for lunch. Good luck!” Paul said before he hung up.

As Apollo hung up his phone, Atlas stuck his head in to tell him the people who were going on the rescue were in the meeting room. “There’s too many of us to meet in here.” Atlas said, so Apollo stood up and followed him down the hall to the meeting room.

They entered the meeting room to find a very disgruntled Riggs sitting with Marla on one side and Misty and Scope on the other side of Misty. Even Trapper didn’t look happy that Kalehua had volunteered but no one was saying anything and the women all had smug smiles on their faces.

Apollo walked to his normal place at the front of the room and looked around. Atlas took his place next to him and Autumn sat across from him in one of the chairs for the overflow. She had a very smug look on her face and Atlas just had his normal stone look.

Apollo looked around and said, “First of all, I want to point out that it was not my call to have the women go in on this but if we all stop to think about the plan we have come up with, it actually is the most sound.

I just spoke with Beverly who told me that one man and the three women we are going to get will be dropped off at the supply store. I’m hoping that means he will not have a vehicle to be able to chase you. But even if he does, I’m sure we can at least flatten a tire or something so that he can’t.

You will not wear colors on this run. Your sizes are going to make you stand out enough and we don’t need this following you home. You are going in today so that you can drive around the area to see where things are and how to get away from there. We’ve already discussed this in church but you ladies need to know what we need you to do.

As I told you, Beverly said there will be one man in the store watching them while they shop. Hopefully we will be there before they get dropped off and they will not have a vehicle at their disposal.

Monitor, please pull up the pictures of the women they are going for.” Apollo said and once Monitor had the pictures on the screen, he continued.

“The strawberry blonde is Kitty and Joy’s aunt Beverly. I believe the brunette’s name is Charity but be careful. Don’t call them by name. The young blonde brunette’s name is Chelsea. She is 17 and from Portland. She’s a runaway from an abusive father who scarred up her back with a strap but she also has open wounds so be careful how you handle her if you have to put your hands on her. Beverly said they are going to force her to marry an older man who is, and I quote, “a fat, hairy pig who is more than twice her age”. The wedding was going to happen Sunday morning so we have to move on this today.

I told Beverly that one of our men will enter with our women. Our man will distract the man with them, get him away from the women. Ladies, once you are inside, check out where the exits are located, pick one and make sure you can get to it safely and fast.

There will be a rescue vehicle either right outside the door or within easy distance at every exit out of the store. You will have com’s so that you can talk to our men and they can let you know if an exit is not safe to use. The loading dock areas are probably not a good idea because there will be too many eyes. We’re hoping you can get them back out the front door.

Go in and let the girls know who you are by saying, for example, “Hi, I’m Marla from the AAMC. I’m going to scan you. Just stay still for a minute.” Then run the scanner over her. Monitor, can you please demonstrate how to use them?” Apollo asked.

Monitor came up and handed each woman a scanner. He showed them how to turn it on and then how to use it. He hid “bugs” on their men, who were the ones being scanned. “I’ve turned the volume off on these so they won’t ring or make noise to attract attention but the little green light will flash if it picks up a bug.

Once you identify the bug, remove it and leave it somewhere in the store. If it’s sewn onto the clothes, like a button on a shirt, remove the shirt and hang it up and leave it on the rack if you can’t get the button off without making a big scene.” Monitor told them. The women ran the scanners like they had been doing it for a long time. They found all of the bugs!

“Once you are sure they are “bug free” and you feel you can get them to an exit, GO! It will be best if you can all go at the same time but if not, just get your charge to the rescue vehicle and stay there with them. They are going to be scared and the reason you are going is to offer them comfort and to put them at ease.

They have been told to stay together until we get there and they will go directly to the shoe department. Try to act like any other shopper until the man with you has the man with them distracted. Your focus is getting the girls out safely as quickly as possible. Don’t dilly dally. Once you see an opening to get out, GO!

Once you are all out, our man will leave the store and leave a bewildered man wondering where the women he came with are.” Apollo grinned, imagining the look on that guy’s face when he realizes his charges are gone.

“As soon as you guys have them, make a beeline for home. If things go according to our plan, and I can’t foresee a reason that it shouldn’t, you should be home in time for dinner.” Apollo said. “Any questions?”

“What do we do if their clothes are full of bugs and they are basically going to have to strip to get rid of them?” Kalehua asked.

“Just get them out of the store and into our vehicle. Take a change of clothes from the rescue closet for them and then throw their clothes away before you leave town, preferably so that it looks like you were driving in a different direction. There will be blankets in every vehicle for warmth and we’ll worry about clothes for them later.” Apollo said. “Any other questions?”

Everyone seemed to understand and no one asked anything else so Apollo said “Just stay safe and hurry home. I’m sure Kitty and Joy are going to really appreciate your efforts to get their aunt here.”

Everyone stood up and left the meeting room to go collect the bags they had packed for their overnight trip. Before they left, Riggs told Apollo, “Order Marla’s cut for me? When we get back, I want to talk to you about where you went for Tori’s ring.”

“I’ll order it right now. Talk to Sarah about her ring. She’s the one that helped the rest of us. She works at the jewelry store.” Apollo told him with a big smile. “Congratulations. She seems like a nice lady.”

Riggs just smiled at him but thought to himself “In public she is definitely a lady but when I got her in my bed, she was all woman and a feisty one at that!”
