A slow-burn romance wrapped in family trauma

"I’ve really enjoyed this story so far. Daniella and Caleb are both complicated in very different ways, and I like how much of their behavior comes from the families and environments that shaped them. Daniella’s vulnerability makes her easy to root for, while Caleb is much harder to read, which makes him interesting. I especially like the family dynamics and the way characters like Abigail and Joy add more emotional depth to the story. There’s still so much unresolved between Daniella and Caleb, so I’m really curious to see where their relationship goes from here."

A Beautiful Story of Heartbreak and Healing

"There are very few stories that capture the journey of heartbreak and healing so beautifully. Daniella's path—from experiencing heartbreak and being shunned by her own family to finding the strength to heal and rebuild her life—is portrayed with great emotion and depth. The story also realistically highlights how society often judges people for their mistakes, making the narrative even more powerful and relatable. Overall, it is a heartfelt, engaging, and thoroughly enjoyable read that I would highly recommend."

Overall review

"For You Only by Linnet Freda is an emotionally gripping coming-of-age romance that brilliantly contrasts the bustling energy of Kampala with the deeply traditional hills of Masindi. After a devastating public betrayal strips away her old life, a stubborn "city girl" Danielle is exiled to a rural village, forcing her to navigate a harsh culture clash, wise grandmothers, and a budding connection with Caleb.. a boy tangled in his own high-society drama. With its vibrant Ugandan setting, authentic cultural details, and powerful themes of heartbreak and healing, it’s a beautifully grounded story about finding yourself when you've lost everything else."
