Brilliant Storytelling
"This novel is an example of brilliant storytelling. Truly. We're introduced to Lord Voss at the beginning of the story, and his motivation and vindictiveness make him instantly unlikeable. However, the author manages to develop his character and the story in such a way that you are left actually liking him by the end. Suffice to say that the story is full of surprises and the author develops the main and supporting characters very thoughtfully. I highly recommend reading this to completion."

The start of something lovely
"This story has very strong bones, the foundation of something with great potential. But bones and foundation by themselves aren't quite enough to truly satisfy. There are, in my opinion, several missed opportunities. Opportunities to draw the reader further along in the slow burn of romance, in the motivations of characters, and of events influencing actions. For example, the readers are told Aria packed a trunk full of books and was enamored by the library in the Voss estate, but we never actually see her read or show interest ever again. Perhaps the author could have a small subplot revolving around how Aria, when not training or riding Arrow, has found solace and escape in the books of the library. Another example, in the year of Aria and Dorians separation, there was potential for political intrigue and warfare tactics, yet it was barely brushed upon, as though the war was merely an afterthought or plot device to drive our characters apart. At the risk of bluntness, it felt rather hollow and rushed. Now, this is not to say I didn't enjoy this story - I enjoyed it very much. I dearly want this story to be more: more fleshed out, with more character depth, more romantic complications, more plot line subversions. If the strings of forgotten plot devices were woven back into the whole, I can easily see the story being at least twice as long. My advice, dear author, is to take this story and run further with it. You have something beautiful here, and I would be delighted to see it grow."
