One Piece: The Dawn Before The Execution

Summary

A few months after the events of Egghead, the World Government finally achieves what they thought impossible. Monkey D. Luffy is captured alive. The battle costs thousands of lives, multiple Admirals are injured, and an entire fleet is destroyed—but in the end, the Emperor known as Straw Hat Luffy is chained in Sea Prism Stone and imprisoned in the deepest level of Impel Down. The World Government announces something that shakes the entire world. "Monkey D. Luffy will be publicly executed at Marineford." Just like Gol D. Roger. Just like Portgas D. Ace. The execution is scheduled one month later. The world erupts into chaos. The Straw Hat Pirates gather. The Revolutionary Army mobilizes. Former Warlords make their moves. The Yonko are forced to choose sides. And hidden in the shadows, Imu smiles. Because Luffy's execution isn't merely an execution. It's a trap. A final war designed to wipe out every enemy of the World Government at once. But as the countdown begins, a storm unlike any before starts gathering. And when the day of execution arrives... The world itself will burn

------------------------------------------------------------

The New World.

A sea where legends were born.

A sea where monsters ruled.

A sea where one name stood above all others.

Monkey D. Luffy.

The Sun God.

The Emperor.

The man closest to becoming Pirate King.

And today...

The world learned he had fallen.

“EXTRA! EXTRA!”

“BIG NEWS!”

News Coo birds filled the skies.

Across islands.

Across kingdoms.

Across seas.

Newspapers rained from the heavens.

People grabbed them eagerly.

Then froze.

The front page contained only one image.

A single photograph.

A young man.

Messy black hair.

A wide grin.

Both wrists bound by black chains.

Sea Prism Stone.

Monkey D. Luffy.

Captured.

Silence spread.

Then chaos erupted.

“What?!”

“No way!”

“That’s impossible!”

“The Straw Hat?!”

People snatched newspapers from one another.

Some laughed.

Some cried.

Others simply stared.

Unable to believe it.

Inside a bar in the South Blue, a pirate crushed his mug.

“Fake.”

“It has to be fake.”

But the trembling in his voice betrayed him.

Because everyone knew.

The World Government never lied about victories.

Only defeats.

Far away.

Inside Marine Headquarters.

The giant screens illuminated an enormous hall.

Rows upon rows of Marines stood at attention.

Vice Admirals.

Rear Admirals.

Captains.

Thousands.

Waiting.

At the center stood Fleet Admiral Sakazuki.

Akainu.

His magma fist rested on a podium.

His expression was colder than death.

Behind him hung a massive photograph.

Luffy.

In chains.

Akainu spoke.

“The operation has succeeded.”

The room erupted in cheers.

“Justice!”

“Justice!”

“Justice!”

Akainu raised one hand.

Silence returned instantly.

“The criminal known as Monkey D. Luffy has been transferred to Impel Down.”

Murmurs spread.

Even many Marines looked shocked.

Actually captured.

Not killed.

Captured.

Alive.

Akainu continued.

“And in thirty days...”

His voice echoed through the hall.

“We will publicly execute him.”

The entire room froze.

Even Vice Admirals widened their eyes.

Execution?

Public execution?

Just like Roger?

Just like Ace?

Akainu’s gaze hardened.

“This era of piracy ends now.”

Deep beneath the sea.

Impel Down.

Level Six.

The Eternal Hell.

A lone cell sat at the end of a dark corridor.

Chains rattled.

A prisoner slowly lifted his head.

Black hair.

Bruised face.

Bandages covering half his body.

Sea Prism Stone cuffs.

Sea Prism Stone chains.

Sea Prism Stone collar.

Enough restraints to imprison a monster.

Yet the prisoner smiled.

“Hehehe...”

The guards flinched.

One swallowed nervously.

“Why is he laughing?”

“I don’t know...”

“He knows he’s going to die.”

The prisoner looked toward the ceiling.

Toward the world above.

Toward freedom.

Toward the sea.

And smiled even wider.

“Everyone’s gonna be mad.”

Thousands of miles away.

The Thousand Sunny drifted quietly across calm waters.

Inside the dining hall.

Nami unfolded a newspaper.

Robin sat beside her.

Usopp yawned.

Sanji prepared lunch.

Zoro slept.

Everything felt normal.

For exactly three seconds.

Then Nami screamed.

The newspaper slipped from her hands.

Robin caught it.

Read it.

And for the first time in years...

Robin’s eyes widened.

Sanji dropped a plate.

It shattered.

Usopp’s face turned pale.

Chopper trembled.

Franky froze.

Brook’s jaw literally fell off.

Yohohoho.

Except nobody laughed.

Because the headline was real.

Brutally real.

PUBLIC EXECUTION OF EMPEROR STRAW HAT LUFFY.

THIRTY DAYS REMAIN.

The world seemed to stop.

Nobody moved.

Nobody spoke.

Nobody breathed.

Then Zoro slowly stood.

The newspaper crumpled in his hand.

His eye burned with killing intent.

“So.”

His voice was terrifyingly calm.

“We’re going to Marineford.”

Elsewhere.

On Kamabakka Kingdom.

A newspaper landed before a tall man standing on a cliff.

The wind blew fiercely.

His cloak fluttered.

Monkey D. Dragon.

Leader of the Revolutionary Army.

Most Wanted Man in the World.

He read the headline.

Once.

Twice.

Three times.

His hand trembled.

For the first time in decades.

Dragon looked shaken.

Behind him, Sabo arrived.

Smiling.

Relaxed.

Then he saw the newspaper.

His smile disappeared.

The paper fell from his fingers.

Ace.

A memory resurfaced.

A platform.

Chains.

A brother.

Death.

“No...”

Sabo whispered.

“No.”

Dragon slowly turned toward the sea.

Storm clouds began gathering above the horizon.

Thunder rumbled.

The air itself trembled.

“The Government has made a mistake.”

At the Holy Land of Mary Geoise.

A shadow sat upon the Empty Throne.

Watching.

Waiting.

Smiling.

Imu.

The ruler hidden from the world.

A giant screen displayed Luffy’s image.

Chains.

Blood.

Defiance.

Imu’s fingers tapped the armrest.

“Everything is proceeding according to plan.”

A servant knelt.

“Your Majesty.”

“What of the Straw Hat Pirates?”

Imu smiled.

Cold.

Patient.

Terrifying.

“They will come.”

“What of Dragon?”

“He will come.”

“What of the Emperors?”

“They will come.”

The servant’s body shook.

Realization dawned.

This wasn’t an execution.

It was bait.

A trap.

For everyone.

Back in Impel Down.

Luffy stared through the bars.

The guards had left.

Darkness surrounded him.

Silence filled the corridor.

Then footsteps echoed.

Slow.

Heavy.

Approaching.

Someone stopped before his cell.

Luffy looked up.

His eyes widened slightly.

For the first time since his capture.

His smile disappeared.

Because standing beyond the bars...

Was a man who should not have been there.

A man whose presence could shake the world.

And he had only one question.

“Luffy.”

The stranger stepped forward.

“What did you see on Laugh Tale?”

Chinyeaka Njoku: The characters so far have been plausible. The Bennets are actually annoying especially Julia and her mother. But in all it’s been a good read so far. I like the storyline and I will recommend to a friend.
