Chapter 1
I stood there in the silence, my breath heavy, my mind broken between fear and confusion.
The glass was shattered.
The reflection was gone.
And so was everything else.
For a moment, I thought I had escaped it… whatever “it” was.
But then my phone—somehow still working—lit up on the ground.
One new message.
Unknown number.
“No need to run anymore.”
My hands were shaking as I slowly picked it up.
A second message arrived.
“You already saw the truth.”
I froze.
Because at that exact moment, the bank called me back.
Their voice was different now—lower, uncertain.
“We rechecked everything… the person who withdrew your money…”
A pause.
“…was found earlier today.”
My heart stopped.
“Found… where?” I whispered.
Another pause.
Then the words that made my entire body go cold:
“Dead.”
They told me his body was discovered near the old financial district, no ID needed this time. Because it was confirmed beyond doubt.
It was me.
Or something identical to me.
But what shocked them most… was the time of death.
It had happened before I even woke up that morning.
Before the coffee.
Before the message.
Before everything.
My phone dropped from my hand.
If he was already dead…
Then who took my money?
Who called me?
And who screamed “RUN”?
Behind me, the broken glass reflected something one last time.
Not a man.
Not a shadow.
Just an empty shape… smiling.
And this time, I finally understood.
Txrexta wasn’t chasing me.
He was what was left after me.
