What is your opinion?

Uncommon, emotional, and unforgettable—with just one tiny critique

"I truly enjoyed this story; it is uncommon, refreshing, and completely unpredictable. I found myself completely swept away by the characters and the plot. I consider this a very well-rounded piece of writing, not only for the brilliant evolution of the story and characters, but also for the detailed and precious description of the setting. I also really appreciated the historical notes: even though I am not typically a fan of that period's history, it was so interesting to learn how reality unfolded, presented with such care and vivid descriptions. I must admit I struggled a bit with the punctuation (for instance, questions never have question marks—though I am not sure if that was intentional 😅). Regarding the style, please allow me to offer a small suggestion: while I appreciate when an author highlights key emotions or moments, pushing this repetition too hard can disrupt the flow of reading. For instance, reserving this technique exclusively for the female protagonist would have made her stand out and given her character even greater strength. At times, the reiteration tempted me to skim ahead, so I would gently suggest lightening up a bit on the repetition without losing your wonderful creative flair. Regardless of this, it is a story that I will definitely remember."

MARA

"I actually wanted to review this now, even though I’ve only read up to Chapter 7 so far. And honestly, while reading, I felt like I had somehow become one of the crew members on that ship. The way you write and describe everything makes me feel like I can actually step into the story and experience it alongside the characters. I’ve always loved reading about the past, especially stories inspired by old events or things that have been recorded throughout history. AHAHA, I guess that’s why I love watching things like Narnia and Harry Potter. And pirate stories too! And honestly, this might be one of the first novels I’ve genuinely enjoyed reading because, funny enough, I actually LOVE writing but I’m not really a big reader. Maybe my taste in stories is just a little weird. AHAHAHA. But I would definitely recommend this story. The pacing feels natural, and you don’t rush through the events or randomly jump from one thing to another. Everything flows really nicely. And Mara!! She’s such a cool female character. Since I’ve only reached Chapter 7, I’m really curious about what’s going to happen between Mara and Porter. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT! "
