Untitled chapter 1
THE WIDOW’S HOUR
A Novel in Fifteen Chapters
This story contains themes of: depression, violent death
When Mara Voss inherits a house from an aunt she barely knew, she expects dust and paperwork — not a letter in her own handwriting, warning her to leave before the first frost. As she settles in, she uncovers a nest woven from human hair, a photograph where a shape creeps closer each night, and a bottomless well breathing out moths. A woman named Mrs. Harrow arrives with memories of a family that never existed — and offers Mara one chance to escape. But the house has bricked its exits into a loop before, and it's very patient. The Widow's Hour is a fifteen-chapter gothic horror story about inheritance, repetition, and a house that never really lets anyone leave.
