Maybe maybe not
Chapter 1 – The First Day
It was my first day of college, and I was extremely nervous. My mind was filled with countless questions. What kind of people would I meet? Would I be able to handle everything? Would I fit in? Would I make friends?
I was excited, but my nervousness was much stronger. Everything about this new journey felt unfamiliar, and I had no idea what to expect.
Lost in these thoughts, I didn't even realize how quickly time had passed. Soon, it was time to leave for college. I stood at the bus stop with my father, waiting for the college bus. His presence made me feel a little more comfortable, but as the bus got closer, my heartbeat grew faster.
At that moment, I had no idea that this wasn't just the beginning of my college life—it was the beginning of a story that would change my life forever.
As soon as I got on the college bus, I saw one of my schoolmates. Seeing a familiar face made me feel a little more relaxed. At my bus stop, another girl got on the bus. Her name was Anjali, and I soon found out that she had also taken admission to the same course as me.
We introduced ourselves and started talking during the journey. By the time we reached college, I already felt a little less nervous.
After entering the campus, we looked for our classroom together. It took us a few minutes, but we finally found it and took our seats. Slowly, more students started arriving, and the classroom began to fill with new faces.
After some time, our teachers entered the class. They welcomed us warmly, introduced themselves, and told us about the orientation program that was scheduled for the next day. We listened carefully, trying to understand how college life would be.
Before we knew it, the first day was over, and it was time to go home. During the day, I had made two or three female friends. We exchanged our phone numbers and created a WhatsApp group named after our college so that we could stay connected. Before leaving, we smiled at each other and said, “See you tomorrow.”
One by one, everyone boarded their respective buses, carrying excitement, curiosity, and countless expectations for the days ahead.
Chapter 2 – A New Beginning
The next morning, I woke up feeling much more excited than I had the previous day. The nervousness was still there, but it wasn't as overwhelming anymore. I got ready quickly, picked up my bag, and left for the bus stop.
As expected, I met Anjali on the bus again. We greeted each other with a smile and spent the journey talking and laughing. By the time we reached college, it already felt like we had known each other for much longer.
That day was our orientation program. The auditorium was filled with new students from different departments. The faculty members welcomed us warmly and introduced us to the college, its rules, facilities, and the opportunities waiting for us. Everyone listened carefully, trying to imagine what the next three years would be like.
After the program ended, we returned to our classroom. During the breaks, I spent more time with my new friends. We clicked a few pictures, shared stories about ourselves, and slowly became more comfortable with each other.
The campus no longer felt strange. It was slowly starting to feel familiar, and so were the people around me.
Little did I know that among the hundreds of students walking through those corridors, someone was about to enter my life in a way I had never imagined. Our paths hadn't crossed yet... but they were about to.
The second day of college ended on a happy note. I had already made quite a few friends, and we spent the day laughing, dancing, and enjoying every little moment together. Slowly, college was starting to feel like a place where I truly belonged.
The next day, however, I couldn't attend college because I was leaving for Ujjain. I even missed the next college function. Instead, I packed my bags and set off on the journey with one of my tuition friends.
When we reached Ujjain, we met one of my father's friend's families. Among them was someone I had never expected to see again—my ex.
When our eyes met, time seemed to pause for a moment. He greeted me politely, just like an old family friend. There was nothing unusual in our conversation, just a simple "hello" and a few formal words. But the way he looked at me made it feel as if he still wished things had turned out differently.
I remembered everything—how he had treated me, the pain he had caused, and the reasons we had become strangers. Instead of reopening old wounds, I chose peace. I smiled politely, exchanged a few words, and moved on.
The rest of the day was spent exploring the beautiful city of Ujjain. After returning, everyone was exhausted, so we rested for a while. Before we knew it, night had fallen, and it was time to catch our train back home.
Standing in the sacred city of Ujjain, the city of Mahakal, I realized something that stayed with me forever.
Mahakal has a beautiful way of removing the relationships that are not meant for us, so that new beginnings can find their way into our lives.
Chapter 3 – Back to College
After returning from Ujjain, life slowly settled into a routine, and our regular college classes finally began.
Every morning started the same way—getting ready, waiting for the college bus, and meeting familiar faces. The campus, which had once felt completely new, was now becoming a part of my everyday life.
My friends and I spent most of our time together. We attended lectures, shared notes, laughed over silly jokes, and waited eagerly for the lunch break. Every day, our friendship grew stronger, and the classroom slowly started feeling like a second home.
The teachers had also become familiar with us. Assignments, practicals, and classroom activities became a regular part of our schedule. Although college life had just begun, each day brought something new to learn and someone new to meet.
At that point, my life was simple. My focus was on making memories, enjoying my college days, and building friendships. I had no expectations from anyone and no idea that someone was quietly becoming a part of my story.
Chapter 4 – A Familiar Face I Didn't Know
As the days passed, college life became busier. One function led to another, and there was always something happening on campus. Since there were so many students in our class and in the college, it was impossible to know everyone. Most of us were just strangers sharing the same campus.
I had participated in one of the college functions and performed a dance on stage. For me, it was simply a performance—something I enjoyed doing. I didn't think much about who was watching.
But among the audience, there was someone who noticed me.
At that time, I had no idea who he was. I didn't know his name, his course, or even that he would one day become an important part of my story. To me, he was just another student in the crowd.
Life has a funny way of introducing people. Sometimes, someone notices you long before you even realize they exist.
Chapter 5 – The First Time I Noticed Him
A few days later, we were sitting in class as usual. That day, a discussion was going on, and everyone was sharing their opinions. By coincidence, he was sitting on the seat next to mine.
During the discussion, he confidently answered the teacher's questions and expressed his thoughts so clearly that the entire class listened attentively. His confidence and the way he explained his points were genuinely impressive.
That was probably the first day I actually noticed him.
Not in a special way, not with any romantic feelings—just as a classmate.
I remember thinking, "Oh, so there's a boy named Jay in our class... and he's really intelligent."
That was it.
There were no butterflies, no dramatic moments, and no love at first sight. He was simply another student in my class who happened to stand out because of his intelligence
at that time, I had no idea that this ordinary classroom moment would one day become a small but memorable part of my story.
Chapter 6 – Rumours Travel Faster Than the Truth
Even though Jay and I were in the same class, we had never actually spoken to each other. We were simply classmates who happened to share the same classroom.
After some time, one of Jay's closest friends, Ardhya, started talking to me. At first, our conversations were completely normal—just casual chats between classmates. There was nothing more to it.
But in college, people often create stories out of the smallest things.
Slowly, rumours began to spread. Since I talked to Ardhya, many students started making their own assumptions. Some even believed there was something going on between us.
I never understood that mindset. Just because a girl talks to a boy doesn't mean they're in a relationship. Unfortunately, some people preferred gossip over the truth.
Because of those rumours, even having a simple friendship with any male classmate started feeling difficult. Every conversation became a topic of discussion for someone else.
Around the same time, I also came to know that Jay had a crush on one of my friends. I heard that he often texted her and tried to get to know her better. Honestly, I was happy for my friend if someone genuinely liked her.
The only problem was... she didn't feel the same way.
At that point, Jay was just another classmate to me, and his feelings for someone else didn't affect me at all. None of us knew that life was quietly writing a completely different story in the background.
Chapter 7 – The Pink Shirt
One day, our class had a practical session in the laboratory. Everyone was busy performing the experiment and discussing the results. That day, Jay was wearing a pink shirt.
I still remember it.
It suited him so well that, for the first time, I found myself noticing him a little more than usual. It wasn't anything serious—I simply thought, "He looks really good today."
After the practical was over, all of us gathered around our professor to discuss our observations. While everyone was standing together, Jay suddenly lost his balance and almost fell.
Without thinking, I instinctively reached out my hand.
He held it.
It lasted only a few seconds, just long enough for him to regain his balance. But for me, those few seconds felt strangely different.
People often say that in movies, the world suddenly goes silent, butterflies fill your stomach, and everything around you disappears for a moment.
I had always thought that was just fiction.
But that day... for a brief moment... I understood exactly what they meant.
As soon as he steadied himself, he gently let go of my hand. We continued talking to our professor as if nothing had happened.
Later, while returning from the lab, Jay spoke to me for the very first time.
With a playful smile, he said,
"Madam Ashi, you have a lot of attitude."
For a second, I didn't even understand why he had said that. I simply smiled and replied before walking away.
At the end of the day, while packing my bag to go home, I kept thinking about his pink shirt. I wanted to tell him that it looked really good on him.
I thought about saying it more than once...
But I never did.
Chapter 8 – An Unexpected Message
The practical had taken place during the gap between our exams. I had promised myself that I would spend those days revising and preparing for the next papers.
But instead of focusing on my books, I found myself thinking about Jay.
No matter how hard I tried to study, my mind kept going back to the practical, his pink shirt, the moment he held my hand, and the few words we had exchanged. It was surprising how someone I barely knew had become such a distraction.
Then, one night, something unexpected happened.
My phone buzzed.
"Ashi, Jay this side."
It was his message.
I don't know why, but the moment I saw his name on my screen, I felt a happiness I couldn't explain. A smile appeared on my face without me even realizing it.
His reason for texting was simple—he wanted the important questions for the exam.
I sent them to him, and what started as a conversation about studies slowly turned into something more. We began talking about ourselves, our interests, and little things about our lives. The conversation flowed so naturally that neither of us noticed how late it had become.
Finally, we wished each other good luck for the exam, said goodbye, and went back to studying.
The next day, during the exam, we didn't really talk.
But we did steal a few glances at each other.
Sometimes our eyes met for just a second, and then we both looked away as if nothing had happened.
After the exam, everyone went home.
That evening, my phone lit up once again.
It was Jay.
His message read,
"If you're free... would you like to talk on a call today?"
I stared at the screen for a few seconds, smiling without even realizing it
Chapter 9 – A Conversation That Never Seemed to End
That night, we spoke on a phone call for the very first time.
From the beginning, the conversation felt surprisingly easy. Deep inside, I felt something I had never experienced before. I felt... special.
I didn't tell him that, of course.
As we talked, Jay opened up about his life. He told me about his recent breakup, the girl he had liked, and how she was older than him. He shared his feelings honestly, and I simply listened without judging him.
Slowly, I also started sharing things about myself. We talked about our lives, our families, college, and many random things. The conversation flowed so naturally that it never felt awkward.
Hours passed without either of us realizing it.
When I looked at the time, it was almost 4 a.m.
On one side, I was scared that my mom might wake up and find me talking on the phone so late at night. On the other side, I didn't want the call to end.
Every time I thought of saying goodbye, another topic would come up, and we would continue talking.
It felt strange.
In college, we had barely spoken to each other.
But on that one phone call...
It felt as if we had known each other for a very long time.
Chapter 10 – Growing Closer
After that night, our phone calls became a part of our daily routine.
Every evening, one conversation would lead to another, and before we knew it, hours would pass. Without even realizing it, we were slowly building a beautiful connection.
The more we talked, the more similarities we discovered.
We both loved 90s songs, enjoyed reading shayari, and could spend hours talking about novels and stories. It felt comforting to find someone who shared so many of my interests.
A few days later, we connected on social media as well.
There, we started sharing our favorite songs with each other. Sometimes, a single song would say everything that words couldn't.
Our bond grew stronger with every conversation.
Whenever I got upset or angry, instead of arguing with me, Jay would sing a song in his own voice just to make me smile. It was such a simple gesture, yet it always worked.
We talked about almost everything—our dreams, our fears, our favorite memories, and the little things that made us who we were.
Then one day, he shared something very personal with me.
He told me a story about his family.
As I listened to him, my heart became heavy. I could hear the pain in his voice, and it made my eyes fill with tears.
At that moment, I didn't want to say anything.
I just wished I could be there beside him...
Not to give advice.
Not to fix anything.
Just to give him a hug and silently let him know that he wasn't alone.
Chapter 11 – When Happiness Caught Someone's Eye
The next morning, we reached college as usual.
Just like every other day, Jay and I looked at each other from a distance. We didn't talk much in college, but our eyes always managed to find each other. Those little eye contacts had become our silent way of communicating.
Everything felt peaceful.
But sometimes, when life is going well, it doesn't stay unnoticed.
Somehow, our conversations and the bond we were building reached someone who simply couldn't accept seeing us happy. I still don't know how our personal conversations became known to that person, but little by little, things started changing.
From that point on, every small misunderstanding was made to look bigger than it really was.
Someone deliberately started creating confusion between us. Words were twisted, situations were exaggerated, and unnecessary misunderstandings were planted, one after another.
It felt as if that person had only one goal—to break the bond we were slowly building.
At first, we didn't realize what was happening.
But slowly...
The peace we had found in each other began to face its first real challenge.
Chapter 12 – Distance Made Me Realize
People often say that not everyone can be happy seeing someone else happy.
Maybe that was true.
The person who couldn't accept our growing bond was one of my seniors. He had a strange reason for interfering in my life. His ex-girlfriend happened to have the same name as mine, and because of that, he claimed to have a soft corner for me.
Honestly, I never understood it.
If his relationship had already ended, why was he trying to become a part of mine? Why was he trying to take away my peace because of a past that had nothing to do with me?
But sometimes, people don't need a reason to interfere. They simply do.
Slowly, misunderstandings between Jay and me started increasing. Things that were once simple became complicated. We stopped understanding each other. Small arguments turned into bigger fights, and the distance between us kept growing.
There were days when we didn't talk at all.
The silence was painful.
But strangely, it was during that silence that I understood something about myself.
I had started liking him.
No...
I had started falling for him.
His absence affected me more than I wanted to admit. I missed our conversations, our late-night calls, and even those silent eye contacts in college. I realized that his presence had quietly become an important part of my life.
That's when I understood something about love.
Sometimes, you don't realize someone's value while they're always around.
You realize it when they're gone.
When someone is standing beside you, your heart may mistake attraction for love. But when they're far away, when you can't talk to them, and yet you still feel their absence in a crowd full of people...
That's when your heart tells you the truth.
And mine finally did.
Chapter 13 – A Cup of Tea
After everything that had happened, the misunderstandings between us slowly began to settle, at least for a while.
That afternoon, while we were in college, my phone rang.
It was Jay.
"Ashi... would you like to go for a cup of tea with me?"
For a moment, I paused.
I knew I should think before answering, but the truth was, I genuinely enjoyed spending time with him. Being around him made me feel peaceful.
So I smiled and said, "Okay... but you'll have to come and get me."
After our exam, I was waiting in college because my bus home wasn't due for some time. Looking back now, I sometimes think that if I had left early that day, maybe that call would never have happened.
A few minutes later, we walked to a nearby tea stall together.
Jay seemed to have a long list of questions he wanted to ask me.
But I barely had any answers.
Not because I didn't know them...
But because sitting beside him felt so comforting that all I wanted to do was look at him, listen to him, and stay in that moment a little longer.
His eyes, his smile, the way he spoke...
Everything about that moment felt peaceful.
The funny part was...
I never liked tea.
In fact, I hardly ever drank it.
But somewhere along the way, tea had started reminding me of him. And if a simple cup of tea meant I could spend more time with Jay, then maybe I didn't mind becoming a tea person after all.
As we sipped our tea, he finally asked the question that had been on his mind.
"Do you only want friendship... or do you want something more?"
I knew he wasn't asking casually.
He wanted to know what I truly felt.
For a few seconds, I stayed quiet.
Then I gathered the courage to say what my heart had been hiding for so long.
"No... I don't want us to be just friends. You're more than a friend to me."
For the first time, I expressed my feelings honestly.
After saying everything I wanted to say, I looked at him and asked softly,
"Can I know how you feel? Do you also see me as more than a friend?"
He didn't answer immediately.
After a long silence, he looked at me and said,
"I need time."
"I can't come to a conclusion this quickly. I've heard a lot about you from other people... and a lot has happened in my life recently. Right now, it's difficult for me to trust anyone."
Then he paused for a moment before saying something I'll never forget.
"Because if I truly get to know you... I won't be able to ignore you, even if I want to."
That sentence stayed with me.
Long after our tea was finished...
Long after we went home...
Every word from that conversation kept replaying in my mind.
Some conversations end when you leave the table.
Ours stayed with me long after the cups were empty.Chapter 14 – The Distance We Couldn't Explain
After that day, something changed.
Maybe this was exactly what I had been afraid of.
Instead of bringing us closer, that conversation somehow created a distance between us.
The late-night calls became less frequent. Our conversations weren't the same anymore. The comfort we once shared slowly started fading, and I could feel the difference in the way Jay behaved.
His behavior had changed.
And without realizing it, mine had changed too.
I became irritated more easily. My replies became shorter, and sometimes I reacted in ways I normally wouldn't.
Jay felt that I was treating him differently because I had started believing the things our seniors said about him.
Maybe that's what it looked like from his side.
But the truth was completely different.
It wasn't because of what people were saying.
It was because his changed behavior was hurting me.
The more distant he became, the more frustrated I felt. I didn't know how to express what was going on inside me. The closeness we had built, our late-night conversations, the songs he used to sing for me, the little moments we had shared—everything kept replaying in my mind.
I missed all of it.
And maybe that's why every small change affected me so deeply.
The saddest part wasn't that we were fighting.
It was that neither of us could explain what we were really feeling.
I couldn't put my pain into words.
And he couldn't understand the silence behind my anger.
Sometimes, relationships don't break because people stop caring.
They break because both people are hurting... and neither of them knows how to say it.
Chapter 15 – The Pink Shirt, Again
After that, we stopped talking completely.
The bond we had once shared slowly disappeared. No late-night calls, no conversations, no songs—just silence.
Days passed without any contact.
Then one day, we happened to meet at a mutual friend's family function.
The moment I saw him, my heart skipped a beat.
He was wearing the same pink shirt.
The same shirt he had worn on the day I had first started noticing him.
For a second, everything came rushing back—the practical, our conversations, the late-night calls, the laughter... every memory.
My eyes refused to look away.
A strange thought crossed my mind.
"I wish I could always see him like this."
Then I laughed at myself.
"Seriously, Ashi? No one can wear the same pink shirt forever. What are you even thinking?"
Sometimes our hearts think things that our minds know are impossible.
Before the function began, we all went to buy a gift.
While we were at the shop, Jay looked at me, smiled warmly, and said,
"Hi, Ashi."
Without thinking, I smiled back.
"Hi."
It was such a small exchange.
Just one word.
But somehow, it felt like so much more.
After that, we attended the function.
The entire evening, I wanted to walk up to him, sit beside him, and talk to him... even if it was only for a few minutes.
But I couldn't.
Something kept stopping me.
Maybe it was my ego.
Maybe it was the fear of making things worse.
Or maybe I simply didn't know where to begin.
I don't know what Jay was thinking that night.
Maybe he believed I had changed.
Maybe he thought I was treating him differently because I wanted to.
But the truth was...
I was never angry because I hated him.
I was hurt because I cared.
That was always our biggest problem.
I couldn't explain what I was feeling.
And he couldn't understand the silence that hid those feelings.
Chapter 16 – The Last Call
After the family function, I couldn't control my feelings anymore.
I had been trying to convince myself that I didn't care, that I had moved on, that none of it mattered anymore.
But I have never been good at lying to myself.
The truth was...
It still mattered.
He still mattered.
So I decided that, at least once, I would be honest about my feelings. I wasn't expecting anything in return. Deep down, I already believed he didn't feel the same way about me. I knew everything that had happened between us had made things complicated, and I wasn't asking him to change his feelings.
I just wanted him to know the truth.
So I finally said the words I had been carrying in my heart for so long.
"Jay... I like you."
In reality, "like" wasn't enough to describe what I felt.
My feelings had grown far beyond that.
But I kept the rest to myself because I knew some emotions are beautiful even when they remain unspoken.
After that, I asked him for one last thing.
"Can we talk on a call... just one last time?"
He agreed.
For a moment, it felt like we had forgotten all the misunderstandings.
We talked again.
But this time...
Everything felt different.
The words were the same.
The voices were the same.
But the warmth was gone.
There was a time when he used to call me "Meri Jaan," and I was his "Gudiya." Those little nicknames had once made me smile without any reason.
Now, they were gone.
The person I was talking to was still Jay...
But the tone, the comfort, and the closeness that had once made our conversations so special had quietly disappeared.
As I listened to his voice, I couldn't stop my tears.
I wasn't crying because of one particular reason.
I was crying because every memory, every late-night conversation, every song he had sung for me, every little moment we had shared came rushing back all at once.
He noticed that I was crying.
He tried to calm me down.
Maybe, from the outside, it looked like I was being emotional over something small.
But only I knew how much that silence had hurt me.
Before ending the call, I made one final request.
"Jay... if you're free on Sunday, can we meet just one last time?"
He sounded confused.
"Closure? Ashi... closure for what? We were never even in a relationship."
I smiled through my tears.
"I'm not asking for your closure," I said softly.
"I need one for myself. I know what I feel for you. I just want to meet you once... so I can finally let my heart accept everything."
There was silence for a few seconds.
Then he replied,
"I'll see... I'll think about it."
That was the last thing he said.
After that...
There were no messages.
No calls.
No texts.
Chapter 17 – The Closure I Was Looking For
After that last phone call, we didn't talk anymore.
There were no messages, no calls, nothing.
A few days later, we saw each other in college. We exchanged a brief eye contact, but neither of us walked over to say anything. We simply went home, carrying our own silence.
That evening, my phone rang.
It was Jay.
For a moment, my heart started racing. I wasn't expecting his call. I had convinced myself that our last conversation had truly been our last.
As soon as I answered, he asked,
"Can we meet today?"
I wanted to.
More than anything.
But because of some family issues, I couldn't leave the house that day.
So I asked,
"Can we meet tomorrow instead?"
He agreed.
"Okay. What time?"
"Around six."
"Done. I'll be there."
---
The next evening, I got ready, feeling more nervous than I had ever been.
I kept telling myself that I was only going there for closure.
But somewhere deep inside, I was scared.
What if I couldn't let go?
From a distance, I saw him riding towards me on his bike.
He was wearing a black shirt.
I was wearing a black dress.
Just before he reached me, he called and asked,
"Ashi... are you wearing a black dress?"
"Yes."
He laughed softly.
"Oh... damn."
"What happened?"
"Nothing."
When he finally stopped in front of me, I couldn't help smiling.
Just like always...
He looked unbelievably handsome.
I had imagined saying so many things to him.
But just like every other time...
I said none of them.
I sat on his bike, and he asked,
"Where should we go?"
I smiled.
"Wherever you want."
He thought for a second before saying,
"Let's have tea."
So we went to a mall café.
We ordered tea and sat across from each other.
For the first few minutes, neither of us spoke.
We simply sipped our tea in silence.
It wasn't an uncomfortable silence.
It was the kind of silence where both people had too much to say.
He finished his tea before I did.
Then he looked at me and asked,
"Ashi... what do you expect from me?"
I smiled and replied,
"Nothing. I don't expect anything from you."
That was the answer I gave.
The truth...
I had a thousand expectations.
I wanted him to understand the hints I had been giving for months.
I wanted him to understand that my feelings had never disappeared.
But I kept those words locked inside my heart.
After a while, he looked at me and said,
"That black dress really suits you."
I smiled.
"Thank you."
A few minutes later, his phone kept ringing again and again.
Seeing that, I started getting a little irritated.
He noticed my mood changing.
Trying to lighten the atmosphere, he smiled and said,
"Come on... let's forget everything. Let's go eat momos."
He knew momos were my favorite.
Without realizing it, I smiled again.
"Okay... let's go."
While we were walking, he suddenly looked at me and said,
"Ashi... your hair looks really beautiful."
I laughed.
"Of course it does. Everything about me is beautiful... except me."
He laughed so hard that I couldn't stop smiling either.
When we entered the lift, he accidentally pressed the wrong floor.
We looked at each other and laughed.
It was such a small mistake...
But somehow, it became one of those tiny memories I never forgot.
At the momo stall, I insisted on ordering from my favorite place.
As we ate, I gathered the courage to feed him one.
At first, he teased me.
"People are watching."
I rolled my eyes.
"Why do you care so much about people?"
He didn't answer.
So I smiled and said,
"Fine... then eat it yourself."
He picked one up himself.
A few moments later, I tried again.
This time...
He quietly accepted it from my hand.
That small moment made my heart happier than I could explain.
For a while, I forgot that I had come there to find closure.
When we were about to leave, he jokingly told me to sit on the bike.
I refused.
He laughed and said,
"Then what... you'll sit on my head?"
I stared at him.
"What did you just say?"
He immediately smiled, gently held my hand for a second, and said,
"Sorry."
Before I could reply, my mother's phone call interrupted us.
"It's getting late. Come home."
I looked at him.
"I should leave."
He nodded.
He dropped me near my house.
Before leaving, we shook hands.
For a few seconds...
Neither of us said anything.
We just looked at each other.
Then I took a deep breath and said,
"Today was supposed to be my closure. Give me your phone... block yourself from my number and delete it too. After today, we won't call or text each other anymore."
He stayed quiet.
Then, after a long pause, he smiled faintly and said,
"You know... I really wanted to kiss you today."
For a second...
Time stood still.
I smiled and replied,
"I'm here for closure... not for that."
But inside my heart, a thousand unanswered questions remained.
Maybe some moments are never meant to happen.
Maybe that's why they stay with us forever.
He looked at me one last time and said,
"Take care."
"You too," I replied.
Then we walked away in opposite directions.
That day...
Our conversations ended.
Our chapter ended.
Everyone thought we had found closure.
But even today, I sometimes wonder...
When will my heart finally find its own?
The lines that were written are amazing every bit of words gives an emotion which felt harder
