Chapter 1
The Last Lesson of Son Goku
The sun rose over Mount Paozu, painting the mountains in warm shades of gold. Birds sang through the trees while a familiar figure stood barefoot on a rocky cliff.
“One thousand...”
Goku finished another push-up using only two fingers before standing with a grin.
“That was a good warm-up!”
His stomach growled.
“...Now I need breakfast.”
Before he could fly home, the sky suddenly shimmered with strange blue cracks. They spread across the clouds like shattered glass before disappearing just as quickly.
Goku frowned.
“Huh... that’s new.”
A moment later, King Kai’s voice echoed inside his mind.
“Goku! Can you hear me?”
“King Kai? What’s wrong?”
“Something’s tearing holes between dimensions! I can’t explain it, but the universe itself is becoming unstable. Supreme Kai wants you immediately!”
Goku’s cheerful smile faded.
“I’m on my way.”
Within minutes, Goku arrived at the Sacred World of the Kais.
Supreme Kai, Elder Kai, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Broly, and Whis had already gathered.
Everyone looked unusually serious.
Whis pointed his staff toward the sky.
“Observe.”
A floating image appeared.
Entire planets flickered like dying stars. Some vanished before reappearing moments later.
“It isn’t destruction,” Whis explained. “Reality is... overlapping.”
Vegeta crossed his arms.
“So who’s responsible?”
Whis shook his head.
“Not someone.”
“Something.”
A shadow emerged within the vision.
Not a person.
Not a god.
A swirling mass of black energy with countless glowing eyes.
“The Null Heart,” Supreme Kai whispered.
“It existed before the universes were born.”
The creature had no voice.
No face.
Only endless hunger.
Every universe created new possibilities.
The Null Heart existed to erase them.
Beerus appeared beside everyone with an irritated expression.
“I was hoping I’d never see this thing.”
Even Goku was surprised.
“You know it?”
Beerus nodded.
“Long before your universe existed, the Angels sealed it outside reality.”
Whis continued quietly.
“The seal is weakening.”
“If it reaches the center of existence...”
“...every timeline ends.”
Silence followed.
Even Vegeta looked unsettled.
Without warning, the sky exploded.
A massive black arm burst from empty space.
Mountains shattered.
Energy storms consumed the horizon.
The Null Heart had arrived.
Goku stepped forward.
“I’ll stop it.”
Vegeta smirked.
“You’d better not hog all the fun.”
Both Saiyans transformed.
Blue lightning erupted.
Super Saiyan Blue.
The battlefield trembled.
Their first attack struck together.
“Kamehameha!”
“Final Flash!”
Twin beams collided with the creature.
For several seconds they pushed forward.
Then...
The energy simply disappeared.
Not blocked.
Erased.
The Null Heart absorbed both attacks effortlessly.
Broly roared and charged.
His green aura engulfed the battlefield.
Punch after punch landed like meteor strikes.
Nothing happened.
The creature swallowed every ounce of energy.
Broly was thrown backward effortlessly.
Piccolo caught him before he crashed.
“This thing learns,” Piccolo realized.
“Every attack makes it stronger.”
Whis remained calm.
“There is one weakness.”
Everyone turned.
“It cannot erase life born from selfless purpose.”
Vegeta frowned.
“What does that even mean?”
Whis smiled gently.
“Power alone cannot defeat it.”
Goku scratched his head.
“So... I have to fight for someone instead of just enjoying the battle?”
Whis nodded.
“Exactly.”
Goku laughed.
“I’ve been doing that for years.”
The battle resumed.
This time Goku didn’t think about victory.
He thought about Chi-Chi.
Gohan.
Goten.
Krillin.
Master Roshi.
Bulma.
Vegeta.
Every friend he’d ever met.
Every rival who made him stronger.
Every smile he’d seen after saving Earth.
His aura changed.
Not larger.
Brighter.
It shimmered with silver and gold.
Ultra Instinct awakened.
Yet it felt different.
Peaceful.
Focused.
Alive.
The Null Heart attacked again.
Reality itself bent.
Entire mountains disappeared.
Time slowed.
Space twisted.
Yet Goku moved naturally through every distortion.
Each step avoided impossible attacks.
Each punch carried no anger.
Only determination.
Still...
It wasn’t enough.
Every strike healed almost instantly.
Vegeta flew beside him.
“You’re not winning.”
“I know.”
Vegeta smiled.
“Good.”
“Because neither am I.”
The Prince of Saiyans powered up beyond his limits.
Ultra Ego erupted in purple flames.
Instead of competing...
The two fought together.
Perfectly.
Like they finally understood one another after decades of rivalry.
Across the universe...
People unknowingly contributed.
Children laughed.
Parents protected families.
Friends helped one another.
Every act of kindness created tiny sparks of light.
Those sparks gathered around Goku.
Whis smiled.
“Now he understands.”
The silver aura transformed into a radiant white flame.
Not a new transformation.
Something deeper.
The strength of every connection he’d built throughout his life.
The Null Heart hesitated for the first time.
Goku raised his hands.
“Everyone...”
“This isn’t just my fight.”
Invisible streams of light poured toward him from countless worlds.
Not because people were asked.
Because hope naturally answered hope.
A sphere of brilliant energy formed above him.
Even Beerus looked impressed.
“This is for every tomorrow!”
Goku unleashed the attack.
The beam wasn’t fueled by rage.
Nor revenge.
It carried every promise, every friendship, every dream that existed across the universes.
The Null Heart screamed silently.
Cracks spread across its endless darkness.
One after another.
Until...
Light burst from within.
The creature dissolved into billions of glowing particles that floated peacefully into the stars.
Reality stabilized.
The broken sky healed.
The universes remained.
Silence.
Then...
Goku collapsed onto the ground.
Chi-Chi would have scolded him for overdoing it.
Vegeta looked down.
“You idiot.”
“You nearly erased yourself.”
Goku laughed weakly.
“Yeah...”
“But it worked.”
Vegeta looked away before smiling.
“...It did.”
Days later, Earth returned to normal.
Life continued.
Children played outside.
Capsules zipped across West City.
Master Roshi pretended not to be impressed.
Krillin brought food.
Everyone gathered for a huge celebration.
Naturally, Goku ate almost everything.
Chi-Chi sighed.
“You just saved existence, and you’re still thinking about food.”
Goku grinned with his mouth full.
“Saving the universe makes me hungry!”
Everyone laughed.
Even Vegeta couldn’t hide a small smile.
That evening, Goku sat alone on the same cliff where the adventure had begun.
The stars looked brighter than ever.
Whis quietly appeared beside him.
“You’ve changed.”
Goku tilted his head.
“You think so?”
“You once fought because you loved becoming stronger.”
“And now?”
“You fight because others can keep smiling.”
Goku watched the wind move through the trees.
“I guess...”
“...strength doesn’t mean much if you’re the only one left to enjoy it.”
Whis nodded.
“A lesson worthy of even the gods.”
Far beyond every universe...
One tiny fragment of darkness drifted through endless space.
It was nearly powerless.
Almost gone.
Yet it still existed.
The fragment slowly absorbed scattered cosmic dust.
A single glowing eye opened.
Watching.
Waiting.
Some battles never truly end.
But somewhere beneath another rising sun, Son Goku smiled as he trained once again, unaware that the next adventure was already beginning.
