Director Marcus Dixon sat at his desk reviewing files. It’s been Twenty years since Sydney and Vaughn went after Julian Sark. Sloan hasn’t been seen for Twenty-seven years and Dixon still can’t breath easy anytime a weird case comes across the CONUS desk. He kept APO operational and they still were doing good work, even if it couldn’t be acknowledged. He opened the file in front of him. The front said DCO eyes only TSC/TCI. Across the edges is black and red tape. The header reads Mulder, Fox. The files under this one have the names Scully and Skinner. Dixon reads through the files and each one appears to point fingers at advanced technology and the Military. Back in SD-6, while they were being tasked to search for Rambaldi artifacts, he had heard rumblings of secret military experiments being conducted and when he ran APO he had developed some contacts in the NID and DIA. Both agencies stated unequivocally that there is no secret program. He never believed that and it was all thanks to Arvin Sloan. If all of the Rambaldi artifacts hadn’t been stored at area 51 he would not know that there were areas that the CIA was not allowed to go. Now agents of the FBI, the nations investigative agency tasked with intelligence and counter-intelligence on American soil, have just disappeared in broad daylight.

Dixon picks up his phone and dials a number he knew from memory. “Weiss, yes Director. It’s not everyday that you call us here. You need what now? Sydney and Vaughn are no longer active and I really don’t think they want me to move Isabelle from the records room. Yes sir. I will call her and get them in here. No? Langley. I will track them down now.” Weiss put his receiver down and looks at his guests across the desk. “Well guys, Dixon wants to recall you to active duty. Not APO it doesn’t sound like. Do I hand you these tickets, or did I not find you?” Vaughn looks at Sydney, “You were just saying that with Izzi out of the house it was getting to quiet.” “We might as well go hear him out. It’s not as if there is another Rambaldi device out there. Eric we’ll take the tickets.”

Dixon had barely hung up the phone when the DCIA walked into the office. “Can you tell me what in the holy Moses is going on in Turkmenistan. Our people are dropping the ball daily and they are supposed to report to you.” Dixon fights the urge to roll his eyes, “Sir, in that region it’s difficult to get anyone to cooperate with us, much less follow through without large sums of cash. Not even SD-6 pretended to have agents in that region.” The Director was a political friend of President Hays and knew nothing of his subordinate’s career other than he seemed to be untouchable. “Dixon, either you get a handle on this or you will be manning the Antarctic desk by the end of the day. You may forever have a job but it does not necessarily have to be in this office.” The Director turns and storms out.

Cheyenne Mountain

It was a somber affair in the mountain this afternoon. Mulder, Scully, and Skinner had been relocated to the BETA Site to set up the first off world investigative unit, Agent Doggett had declined a position as no one knew he was with Mulder when Senator Matheson was killed, and General O’Neill just had his promotion and change of command ceremony. He will be going to DC to run the Star Gate Agency, or as someone had joked when Hammond went there, the Department of Homeworld Security. Carter was going to do R&D at Area 51, and Jackson was finally going to Pegasus. T’ealc was the only one who was not outwardly depressed and that is because he was going to see his people shortly. Richard Woolsey just strolled into O’Neill’s office and he looked like his normally unfriendly self. “General” Jack cuts him off, “AHH Dick, you missed the party. We had Cake.” Woolsey was not impressed. “General, you have a problem. My contacts in the CIA have told me that the FBI agents, for want of an easier term, disappearance has raised some high level eyebrows.” “Oh come on Dick, relax. You of all people should know that they can’t operate on American soil.” “They have a unit that is black bag. It’s so Classified that not even the NID has oversight.” “D’oh. Walter get in here.” The airman arrives quickly, “Yes sir?” “Find Carter and Jackson. Landry doesn’t need to inherit this.” “Right away, sir.”
