Welcome to The Unseen Burden
Welcome to a story not spoken but carried.
Here, every smile hides a shadow, every silence has a weight, and every heart keeps a secret it cannot confess.
This is not just a tale to be read, it is a journey into the unseen, into the burdens that press against the soul when no one is watching.
Enter carefully.
What you discover may stay with you long after the final page.
They say silence weighs nothing, but those who carry it know better. Silence is a stone, smooth and cold at first, until it grows sharp edges that cut into the skin of your soul. It presses against the chest, a quiet suffocation, and no one sees it except the one who bears it.
In the town of Sanele, people walked with steady smiles and neat routines, but behind every door, a secret pulsed. Some secrets were small, harmless whispers tucked into diaries that would never be opened again. Others were vast, heavy enough to bend a person’s back, to change the shape of their life forever.
The story does not begin with the first disappearance, nor with the last, but with the single truth that bound them all: every person vanished because of something they could not say out loud.
Alina Moyo had not yet understood this. She was still a journalist chasing deadlines, still believing that truth was a thing that lived in facts and headlines. But soon she would learn that truth is slippery, that it hides in silence, and that sometimes the unseen burden is the most dangerous of all.
And once you’ve seen it, once you’ve felt its weight, there is no turning back.
