Summary

On the night her boyfriend Jaremiah humiliates and abandons her on her 23rd birthday, Arshika is approached by a devastatingly handsome, impossibly wealthy stranger with a shocking proposal: marry him tonight, no waiting, no conditions. Rafael de Valcázar has everything money can buy and only months left to live, and he wants to spend what remains of his life devoted to a woman whose conviction and passion he witnessed in a single, unforgettable night. Swept up in grief, recklessness, and a desire she's never let herself feel before, Arshika says yes. Hours later she's a bride, a wife, and finally, a woman who has given herself completely to a man she barely knows. But morning brings a horror she never could have imagined. What was meant to be the start of a new life may have already become the end of one, and Arshika is about to learn that some vows carry consequences far darker than "for richer or poorer." A story of grief, desire, and a wedding night that changes everything, for better, and for worse.

Disclaimer

This is a work of fiction intended strictly for adult/mature readers, 18 years of age or older.

This story contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and mature themes including rough sex (consensual), death and violence. If you are under 18, please stop reading now and close this document.

If you are an adult who is uncomfortable with explicit sexual content, graphic descriptions of intimacy, or dark themes such as murder and its aftermath, this story may not be for you, and that’s completely okay. Please consider this your heads-up to step away.

All characters depicted in any sexual situations are fictional adults (18+). This story is a work of fantasy and does not reflect the author’s views on real-world relationships, marriage customs, or legal/medical practices. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.

Reader discretion is strongly advised.

P.S. Many South Asians don’t use family surnames in the Western sense instead, a father’s first name is often used as the “surname.” This is why the heroine’s name, Arshika Jonathan, follows that convention rather than a traditional inherited last name.
