Prologue
My is Barry Allen, and I’m the Flash. For years, I’ve faced impossible things. Speedsters from the future. Gods. Monsters. Time itself. But nothing prepared me for what happened next.
Because this time… The enemy already won.
The Cortex was silent. Too silent. Cisco Ramon sat alone in S.T.A.R. Labs, staring at the blue flash drive recovered from Savitar’s meeting. Something about it felt wrong. The drive contained no files. No code. No data. Just a single symbol. Savitar’s symbol. Cisco leaned closer. The symbol suddenly began glowing. “Uh… that’s probably bad.”
The lights flickered. Then every monitor in the Cortex activated simultaneously.
WARNING.
WARNING.
WARNING.
A surge of blue lightning erupted from the flash drive. The energy raced through the lab’s systems/ Across every cable. Every satellite connection. Every network in Central City. Cisco’s eyes widened. “No no no no—”
Too late. The symbol expanded across every screen in the building. Then a voice echoed from the speakers. A voice Cisco knew all too well. “Phase One is complete.”Savitar.
Across the city, I sat on the couch in my apartment. I had barely fallen asleep when every light in the room exploded. My television activated by itself. The screen glowed blue. Then Savitar appeared. I shot to his feet. “Savitar.”
The speedster’s armored face stared directly at him. “You failed.”
I clenched his fists. “What did you do?”
Savitar’s voice echoed through the apartment. “What I was always meant to do.”
The image flickered. For a split second, I saw something impossible. The hooded figure. The one from Savitar’s lair. Its hood slipped back. I blood ran cold. The face underneath looked familiar. Very familiar. Then the image vanished. Leaving only one message.
ASCENSION BEGINS AT MIDNIGHT.
Miles away, deep beneath Central City, hidden doors opened. Ancient machinery began activating. Blue lightning flowed through tunnels untouched for more than a century. And in the darkness…
Something woke up. A pair of glowing blue eyes opened. Then another. Then hundreds more. A voice echoed through the underground chamber. “Prepare them.”
The eyes brightened. “The Age of Savitar begins now.”
