"An interestingly different and complex story involving humans and other souled creatures as the playthings of demigods. At the start, the activities of Aleks and Emryk are fairly straightforward, if risky under the indecency laws. The introduction of gods and new locations starts to be a bit overwhelming. Not sure of the purpose of the time dilation In imprisonment of some "offenders" hope Mateusz gets better treatment if the character goes into the next book. In the end the resolution involving fairies and the way Emryk is deceived and then placed in another body was disappointing. Like most people I detest liars, especially those with too much power and too little responsibility. Will definitely have to re-read book one before starting book 2."
