Chapter 1
Where My Story Begins
My name is Julia Njeri Kimwaki. I am 27 years old, and this is my story.
I was born in Thika Town, Kenya, and grew up in an estate called Biafra. I am the firstborn in a family of three children. My father is Martin Kimwaki Njoroge, and my mother is Ruth Wanjiru Gichiko. I have two younger siblings: my sister, Maryann Njeri Kimwaki, and my brother, Titus Njoroge Kimwaki.
Growing up as the firstborn came with both joy and responsibility. From an early age, I learned the importance of setting an example and looking out for my younger siblings.
My educational journey began in 2003 when I joined Jamhuri Primary School in Thika Town. Those years laid the foundation for my future and gave me many memories that I still cherish today. After completing my primary education in 2010, I joined Kenyoho Secondary School in Murang'a County in 2011.
My four years in high school were filled with lessons, challenges, friendships, and dreams about the future. In 2014, at the age of 16, I completed my secondary education, not knowing what life had in store for me in the years ahead.
That was only the beginning of a journey that would test my strength, shape my character, and teach me the true meaning of resilience
