Chapter 3 the competition.
It was a very busy week in swan high student preparing for the competition, as announced by principal Kingsman it was a three section game first section was about puzzle arrangements and the second was about riddles while the third was racing. While in the so social building mela and ken were searching riddles to solve while Eric sat close to them with his phone.mela said;
MELA: Eric where trying to study here for a competition we're all in, are you really this annoying?
ERIC: only when something is wrong.he raised and eyebrow and looked into her eyes.
They both stopped for a moment before ken broke the silence.
KEN:hmm hmm you two are roommates and teammates it's either we keep winning or keep fighting.
MELA: tell that to him she replied while looking toward eric ,now may we begin i have a plan for this competition listed out; I'll be taking the riddles round, and ken i want you to handle the puzzle cause I've observed that you're good at it while Eric,she turned to him with a gentle but scary smile;i hate to say this but you run quite well based on my research .
ERIC:oh wow so you've been researching all about me ,oh are you having a crush on me?
MELA: in your dreams i just want you to handle your post well that's the most difficult part please do it for the team.
ERIC: Yes boss. Well I'm going to have lunch see you guys later.
KEN: wait for me I'll be right behind you.
MELA:Ok bye I'll be in the library.
They all left the social building .
The day of the competition came a tall teacher came out and said;
TEACHER: this game has three sections you must pass one before the other, the game starts with the riddles.
Each team stepped forward the riddle was difficult but was no match for Mela's skills,she solved the riddle in 5 seconds. This act left eric and ken in shock, they took a step forward to the next round which was the puzzle round,eric and mela looked at the puzzle in shock then suddenly;
KEN: leave it to me
Before the twinkle of an eye he put all the pieces together and it was done. They all smiled happy and moved to the nest round eric was the representative for the race, Mr George Washington stepped out;
COACH: students bring your Representatives for the game.
MELA:eric step forward we believe in you.
Eric stepped out and then the game started,mela stood close to the line of the field and suddenly the wait of dizziness came and everywhere became blurry and then she was on the floor.
KEN:mela what's wrong he shouted
Eric ran back from the field towards the sound of ken's voice.
ERIC: what happened mela are you alright?
MELA: I'm just feeling tried,the game has already started there's no hope of winning anymore she sighed sadly.
ERIC : They don't call me the speed of light for no reason. Then with a little wink he went back to the field and ran so fast he could barely be seen and to everyone's surprised he came first position, the crowd burst into appulse with joy eric ran towards his team and they all went into a big hug mela feelt like a little kitten in his arm .
After the game the principal came up to the field
PRINCIPAL KINGSMAN:i see we all had a good time and we also have our winners step forward eric,ken and mela.
They all walked up to the stage happily to reacieve the ticket to Free books.
After the game mela walked back to her room to call her mother, unknown to her eric was at the door side listening;
MELA: Hello mum. It felt quiet she could hear her mum crying. Mum..... Mum..... Talk to me did dad do this to you mum stop crying she could barely talk when she heard her father's voice;
MELA'S DAD:you still went to school write who would help me sell these machines I'll make sure you regret this.
MELA:you monster let my mum go i hate you let my mum g.......... The phone was silent.
She Burst into wide tears and then Eric stepped in, she quickly wipe her tears;
ERIC : stop crying please.
MELA: I'M not crying.
ERIC: you're still stubborn even when you are sad , don't worry your dad is definitely going to pay. He wipes the tears off her eyes gently.
MELA: thank you.she smiled , I'll make dinner and mean while we have home work to do just weeks since I started already so much work.
ERIC: You have me by your side.he smiled
MELA: yh right show off .
They both Burst into laughter.
