Part 1
It’s about eight o’clock on a warm, breezy Wednesday night in the city of Darnassus when the Crime Scene Investigators pull up to a lavish estate on the east side of town—the rich neighborhood where the stars and celebrities lived.
Kressum is the first to get out of the car, his dark sunglasses covering his eyes. He is a Human, the boss of Darnassus’ Crime Scene Investigations Unit. He is stocky but well-built, with short brown hair graying around the hairline. Darnassus PD is already there, along with the coroner’s van and an ambulance.
The maid who placed the call is sitting on a gurney in the back of the ambulance, an oxygen mask over her face.
Katrina gets out of the passenger seat and looks around. She is a Draenei—tall yet athletic, her glowing bluish skin radiant in the evening sun. Her soft purple hair is long and hangs to the middle of her back.
“Wow. With all these people around, I hope the evidence is still intact,” she says.
As she says that, one of the taller Night Elf officers from Darnassus PD lets out a loud yelp as he trips over a loose stone on the walkway. A few moments later, he is lying sprawled in the flowerbed to the left of the path.
Kressum raises an eyebrow and sighs.
“Indeed,” is his only reply.
They head into the house, the clumsy officer collecting himself and apologizing as they pass him. His cheeks are a deeper blue as he flushes with embarrassment.
Kressum walks into the house and looks around. Warnock stands in the doorway of the dining room down the hallway. He is a Night Elf who signed on with the CSI Unit after Kressum recruited him from his detective role with the DPD. His hair is brushed back behind his regal ears.
He flags Kressum and Katrina over. They walk into the room, and he points to the body.
Seated at the table is a young Night Elf female, now deceased. She leans over the table, her face resting upon a delicate china teacup, her hands lying beside her. Warnock has taken the liberty of pulling her deep green hair to one side so more of her face can be seen. The woman’s nose and mouth rest neatly in the brim of the cup, her eyes closed.
Kressum looks at him.
“So, what have we got?” he asks in his serious manner.
“Drowning,” Warnock says, nodding to Katrina in greeting.
“Drowning?” Katrina asks, blinking in disbelief.
“Teacup,” Warnock says, pointing toward the victim.
“...Wow...” is all Katrina can manage.
“That’s why I drink coffee,” Kressum says, sliding on his rubber gloves as he moves toward the body.
** COMMERCIAL BREAK **
Announcer: On the next Extreme Makeovers: Orgrimmar, we ambush-makeover Orla Ninjagrip, a female Orc Warrior who feels she isn’t feminine enough.
Orla is seen walking down the street in the Barrens with a Troll friend. Someone calls her name off-camera, and she turns around. A net is quickly thrown over her, and a fighting, furious Orla is dragged off-camera. Next, we see Orla, now tightly bound, in a beauty salon somewhere in what appears to be the city of Ironforge.
Announcer: She will receive the best treatments.
A Gnome appears in the shot carrying what looks like a hairdryer. She sneezes, and a beam fires from the hairdryer, hitting Orla and shrinking her to about three inches tall.
Announcer: Oh, $!*@#!!!
Orla, now shrunken and pissed off, goes on a rampage. The camera filming is knocked over, and things fly past it as the cameraman screams. More screams—and Orla’s furious growls—are heard. Glass shatters. Cans and chairs fly. Someone yells, “My leg!”
Announcer: RUN!! clears throat I mean... tune into the next Extreme Makeover: Orgrim—
The sound of running can be heard.
