The Blood Oath

Summary

"Stay away from me." Nandini's voice trembled. Manik didn't move. He only stared at her. "I'm trying." "Then try harder." A faint, dangerous smile appeared on his lips. "You think I don't know that?" She frowned. "Know what?" He stepped closer. Close enough for her to feel his unnaturally cold breath against her skin. "That you're the one person I should never want." Nandini's heart skipped. "Manik..." His eyes darkened. "And yet," he whispered, "every time you walk away from me, something inside me wants to follow." She stared at him. "Why?" For a moment, he said nothing. Then his expression changed. Fear. Real fear. He looked past her shoulder. "Because someone is coming for you." Nandini turned around. Nobody was there. When she looked back- Manik had disappeared. Only his voice remained in the darkness. "And when they come..." "Don't trust the people who claim they love you." Nandini's heart pounded. Because from somewhere behind her, another voice whispered- "Especially your brother."

INTRODUCTION

There are stories people tell about vampires. Stories about creatures who live in darkness.

Creatures who drink blood, never age, and hide among humans.

But people stopped believing in those stories a long time ago.

Because sometimes, the most dangerous monsters are the ones who look completely human.

At Blackwood University, life seems ordinary. Students attend classes, fall in love, make friends, fight with each other and dream about their futures.

Among them are five people whose lives are about to become dangerously intertwined.

Nandini and Navya Murthy are sisters who lost their parents years ago in a tragic car accident. They grew up believing that their parents' death was simply an unfortunate tragedy.

Their elder brother, Abhimanyu, has always protected them. Perhaps a little too much.

Nandini has never understood why Abhimanyu is so secretive about the past.

Why does he refuse to talk about the night their parents died?

Why does he become strangely tense whenever someone mentions that accident?

And why does he sometimes look at his sisters as if he's afraid that one day they will discover something terrible about him?

Because Abhimanyu isn't human.

He is a vampire.

And he's not the only one.

His two closest friends, Manik Malhotra and Cabir Dhawan, are vampires too.

They have known each other for centuries.

Three immortals who have survived wars, betrayals, heartbreak and countless generations of humans.

To the students of Blackwood University, they're simply three mysterious seniors. But beneath their ordinary appearances lies a world Nandini and Navya know nothing about.

A world of ancient vampires.

Forbidden rules.

Blood oaths.

Memory manipulation.

Ancient enemies.

And secrets that have survived for centuries.

_____________________

🖤 MANIK MALHOTRA -

Manik is the oldest and most feared among the three friends.

Cold.

Arrogant.

Quiet.

Dangerously charming.

He doesn't trust humans, and he certainly doesn't believe in love.

After centuries of watching everyone he cared about disappear, Manik decided that emotions were a weakness.

Then Nandini entered his life.

She is everything he dislikes.

Stubborn.

Curious.

Fearless.

And completely unwilling to listen to him.

Their first meetings are filled with arguments and irritation. But there's something about Nandini that Manik can't explain.

Her presence feels familiar.

Her eyes awaken memories he has buried for centuries. And the closer she gets to him, the more frightened he becomes.

Because Manik knows something she doesn't.

Their story may have begun long before either of them was born.

🌙 NANDINI MURTHY -

Nandini is nineteen.

A college junior with a warm heart, sharp mind and stubborn personality.

She loves her sister Navya more than anything and trusts her brother Abhimanyu completely.

Or at least, she thinks she does.

Nandini has always had strange dreams about her parents' death.

Rain.

A dark road.

Broken glass.

And sometimes...

two red eyes.

Everyone tells her they're only nightmares.

Until she meets Manik.

Something about him makes those forgotten images feel real. Nandini doesn't know why Manik seems determined to stay away from her.

She doesn't know why he always appears when she's in danger.

And she definitely doesn't know why the first time she looks into his eyes, she feels like she's looking at someone she has known forever.

But Nandini has never been good at ignoring questions. And some questions are dangerous to ask.

🩶 ABHIMANYU MURTHY -

Abhimanyu is Nandini and Navya's protective elder brother.

To his sisters, he's simply the person who has always been there for them.

But Abhimanyu is centuries old.

He is a vampire.

And Manik and Cabir already know his secret. In fact, they have been beside him for a very long time. Abhimanyu, Manik and Cabir share a friendship stronger than ordinary friendship.

They are brothers by choice.

They have fought together.

Protected each other.

And carried each other's secrets.

But Abhimanyu has one secret that even his closest friends don't completely understand-

what truly happened to Nandini and Navya's parents.

He has spent years keeping the truth away from his sisters. Because he knows that if Nandini discovers what happened that night...

she won't be able to return to her normal life.

🔥 CABIR DHAWAN -

Cabir is the complete opposite of Manik.

Where Manik is quiet, Cabir is loud.

Where Manik scares people, Cabir charms them.

He's funny, sarcastic, flirtatious and constantly irritating his two best friends.

But behind his playful personality is a vampire who has lived for centuries.

Cabir is fiercely loyal to Manik and Abhimanyu. He would risk everything for them.

Then he meets Navya.

His first thought?

She's annoying.

Her first thought?

He's unbearable.

Their relationship begins with teasing, arguments and constant challenges. But somewhere between the fights and laughter, Cabir begins to care.

And that's dangerous.

Because Navya is human.

And Cabir knows exactly what happens when a vampire starts loving a human.

🌸 NAVYA MURTHY -

Navya is Nandini's younger sister.

Eighteen.

Funny.

Emotional.

Mischievous.

And completely unaware that her family is surrounded by vampires.

She has no idea that her brother isn't human.

She doesn't know that the mysterious seniors Manik and Cabir are centuries old.

And she certainly doesn't know that her life will eventually become connected to the vampire world.

For now, her biggest problem is Cabir.

The irritating senior who seems to appear everywhere she goes.

They argue.

They tease each other.

They pretend they can't stand one another.

But sometimes hatred is simply attraction wearing a disguise. And Cabir may become the person who changes Navya's entire destiny.

________________________

🩸 THREE VAMPIRES. TWO SISTERS.

Manik.

Cabir.

Abhimanyu.

Three immortal friends who have survived centuries together.

Nandini.

Navya.

Two sisters who believe they are completely human.

Five lives that were never supposed to cross. Yet somehow, fate brings them together.

And behind their meeting lies a secret that has been buried for years.

A secret connected to a night of rain.

A car accident.

A forgotten memory.

And an ancient vampire who has not forgotten.

More vampires will enter their lives.

Some will become allies.

Some will become enemies.

Some will hide behind human faces.

And some will know the truth about Nandini and Navya long before the sisters discover it themselves. But there is one thing nobody knows yet.

Nandini and Navya will not remain human forever. Their journey into the vampire world will be slow.

Unexpected.

Painful.

And irreversible.

Because sometimes immortality isn't something you choose.

Sometimes...

it chooses you.

And when it does, love may become the most dangerous curse of all.

The Blood Oath begins where the memories end.

Three Immortals. Two Sisters. One Secret That Should Have Stayed Buried.
