Chapter 0: Meet the characters
(The characters here are nicknamed after specific flavors—names chosen by the group themselves—because they love those tastes. Furthermore, the story is based on the Eastern concept of the "Ngũ Vị (Five Flavors)" rather than modern scientific research, so the main cast does not include the umami flavor.)
The group consists of five people who run a café together:
Spicy (Lazuli / Thế Hưng ) (Male, 16):
-Loves Sichuan and Chongqing (China) cuisine.
-Server; frequently carries a jar of shrimp salt.
Sour (Malt / Dân Trí ) (Male, 17):
-Manages the group's finances and usually plans their trips.
-Allergic to avocados.
-Café owner; drinks lemon tea so sour it makes your tongue curl (made with 6 large lemons)
Salty ( Gelato / Huyên Vũ ) (Male, 16):
-Great sense of direction; the group's human GPS.
-Barista and "glutton" (aka the one who sneak bites from the ingredients the most).
-Enjoys playing the guitar.
Sweet ( Fuwakaze / Trọng Thắng ) (Male, 16):
-Loves strawberry milk and cocoa.
-The group's resident *otaku*; loves Vocaloid.
Bitter ( Mochi / Huỳnh Quang ) (Male, 16):
-Loves Pokémon; has memorized the entire Pokédex, types, and move pools.
-Coffee addict
-The only one who can drink black coffee.
