His Rejected

Elias’s POV

"Alpha, here is the wine you asked me to get. We might need to fix the lights down in the cellar. I couldn’t see a thing." I complain with the tray in hand.

"Are you freaking dumb or something!? Can't you knock?"

I look up in terror, "Oh my God...I'm so sorry. I didn’t know you had a guest, Alpha. I'm sorry, Sarah."

"Just shut up. Drop the drink and leave already." She stares me down hard while the Alpha simply smirks and pulls up his pants.

"I told you to stop talking to him like that." He reprimands her. "Leave."

She gasps in shock. "Are you serious right now? Whatever." She grabs her purse pushing past me to exit the room.

"I swear, I didn't know she was in here." I look away from his dominating eyes.

"It’s fine." He smiles walking up to me, "and I told you to stand up for yourself. You can't let them talk to you like that. You are a beta after all."

"She is the only one who talks to me like that." I roll my eyes with a sigh.

"Forget it." He buttons his shirt.

"You missed a few." I chuckle.

"Fuck." He curses under his breath.

"Let me." I pull the shirt from his hands and start buttoning it up.

"Don’t tell me you are blushing this hard because of what you saw earlier." He teases.

"You mean you, getting blown?" I scoff. "You really need to have a bit of decency. What if it were someone else who walked in?"

"So what? I'm not ashamed." He chuckles.

"You are hopeless. Done." I shake my head moving away only for him to pull me into his arms. "What are you doing? I've heard enough insults from Sarah as it is." I try to wiggle out of his hold.

"Stay still." He husks causing me to shut my mouth and lift my eyes to meet his. "You've got a fallen eyelash."

I dare not move when his fingers touch the corner of my eye. "Make a wish." He smiles in my face.

"You believe in that stuff?" I scoff.

"Will you do it or not?"

"Fine." I laugh lightly closing my eyes. I open my eyes after a few seconds and blow the eyelash. "There. All done."

"Okay, now let's go find the boys. I still can’t believe you will be eighteen next month." He lets go of me with an amused tone. "Are you excited? I mean, you will find your mate soon." He adds.

"I haven't really thought about it." I shrug.

"Well, I'm excited. Let's go." He throws his arm around my shoulder, pulling me out of his studies with him.

I could hardly fall asleep. I roll over in my bed endlessly. I sat up feeling frustrated and suddenly felt my body getting hot. I take off my pyjamas, leaving only my briefs but still feel the urge to get totally naked. I open my door frantically. What's happening to me? My head is spinning so much that I feel I might faint. I sniffed the air, and suddenly, a unique scent caught my attention. I follow it like I'm under a spell and it takes me to the Alpha's room. I push open the door hastily.

"What the hell?"

I hear him curse from his bed.

"Eli? What's wrong?" He sprints out of bed to catch me in time.

"I...I don’t know. I feel so hot." I mumble, dropping my face into the crook of his neck, inhaling with eyes closed, "Have you always smelled this good?" I smile weakly against his skin.

He pulls my face away gently to stare me in the eye. "Eli? Look at me." He pats my cheek gently. "How could this be? You are in heat?"

"I am?" I say with a smile.

"Let's get you to bed." He lifts me into his arms then takes me to the bed, placing me down carefully.

"Don’t go." I grab his arm stopping him.

"I'm not going anywhere. Let me get a wet towel to cool you off." He caresses my cheek.

I shake my head weakly. "Cas...I want you." I whisper.

His eyes bug out. "What did you just say?"

I raise my head from the pillow, slowly then plant a chaste kiss on his lips. The second my lips touched his, I felt a wave of shock and a painful ringing in my ear and my wolf howled loudly in my head. I whimper pulling away.

"Oh my God..."

I hear Cas whisper.

"Mate!" My wolf cheered.

"No...this can't be happening." He repeats, getting off the bed quickly.

"Cas, please...I need you. Take me already." I plead, trying to get out of bed.

"Stop talking!" He barks, pushing me back into the bed. "Let me get the towel. It's gonna be okay." He runs into the bathroom, leaving me while I grope myself with loud lustful moans.

My head hurts so much like I've been drinking the previous night. Where am I? I look frantically. Cassian's room!? I suddenly felt more awake. I remember everything. Is...Is the Alpha my mate!? What the hell happened last night? I couldn't really tell if he was happy about it or not. Oh God, no. Cas never liked gays. He wasn't so much a homophobe but he claimed he never understood how it works between two men. Oh God, he is going to reject me, isn't he?

"Please, God, no. Help him accept me." I whisper with a knot in my chest.

"Look who's up."

He barges into the room with a smile.

"I'm sorry I was such a trouble last night," I whisper, getting out of bed.

"You are my beta after all. I don't mind." He smirks.

"Is that all I am?" I test the waters.

"What?" His expression gets hard.

"I remember everything." I give him a weak smile. "You are my mate, Cas."

He stares at me blankly.

"Nothing to say? Am I that unworthy to stay by your side?" My voice broke and I feel my eyes filling with salty water.

"You know you are my best friend. And that aside, you are like a brother to me." He says with a sigh.

"Are you going to use the promise your dad made to mine as an excuse?" I scoff.

"You know that's not it."

"Then what is it? Why couldn't you accept me last night?" I step closer while he studies my face.

"I couldn't just claim you in that state, Eli. Everything is still a shock to me." He breathes.

"Well, I'm fully aware of my surroundings right now." I shrug, "So what is it?"

"There's probably been a mistake." He says calmly and I take a step back with the sting of a stabbing pain in my chest.

"What?" My voice trembles.

"Yeah. It's probably just a mistake so there's no need to make a big deal out of it. We will talk about it later." He takes off his shirt walking into the bathroom, "and don't worry about your work today. Everett can step in. Just get some rest, alright?"

I could hear the sound of water pouring from the bathroom and I didn’t even notice the tears streaming down my face.

Maybe he is right. This is probably a mistake. Moon goddess, please let this be a joke so at least I get my friend back. The man who stood in front of me with cold eyes a moment ago isn't my friend. Why would you test us like this? Did you do this because you knew of my crush on him? I can't question your plans but please, make it less painful cos this hurts. So bad.
