Boredom

Lust sat at the table, bored. One would almost say it felt sad- hasn't had a fulfilling job for almost two days. Lust was, as always, accompanied by its siblings who, unlike Lust, had always many things to do, causing chaos amongst those hilariously stupid creatures- humans. There was nothing jollier for Lust than to play with them. They always looked so funny- all baffled, trying to figure themselves out, not having the slightest idea that it's probably just Lust playing the puppeteer and having a whale of a time. Sadly, people were always in a hurry doing the other six sins, which has made Lust reconsider its occupation a couple of times before.

The room they were sitting in was silent, everybody was eating quietly, even Gluttony. Lust wasn't hungry, it barely even touched its peackock dipped in a hummingbird sauce.

"I'm fucking bored," said Lust eventually and left the dining room while yawning ostentatiously, the beautiful dining room with hardwood dining tables and low hanging chandeliers.

Marcus frowned and scratched his stubble. He knew from the very beginning that this was probably not the best idea. Not for him. Marcus cringed throughout the whole Chubb's speech. Chubb wasn't Chubb's real name, but Marcus didn't feel like remembering it, since he went there for this time only. Chubb was a small guy in an even smaller red shirt that screamed: "hey I lost ten pounds and my flabs look like abs!" Marcus chuckeled at that thought and wiggled in his chair. This wasn't the AAs, even though one could safely assume that after having just briefly skenned the quirky bunch sitting in a circle. It was a meeting for sex addicts. No, Marcus wasn't a sex addict, Marcus was more of a curious cat. He didn't understand why anyone who could probably nail anything that doesn't run or climb a tree, would want to lose their ability. Marcus wasn't exceptionally handsome, didn't have many friends and this awkward group of people who deliberately wanted to stop their sexual activities provided him at least some satisfaction. Satisfaction and envy fueled anger. Marcus thrived on those two emotions, fully realizing how shallow that was, yet remaining too lazy reflect on it with action. He glanced at Chubb and had to cringe again, realizing he probably had more sex than Marcus ever will. His blood started to boil and it was the signal to leave.

"It's probably about time I left," Marcus murmured while lifting from his chair, interrupting Chubb's grand finale.

"By Steve." The monotone, uninterested sound of their voices echoed through the room.

He was standing at the main door, trying to find his cigarettes. When he let out the familiar reeking cloud of cancer and happiness, he could finally relax a bit. Marcus thought about this evening and couldn't shake this strange sensation that he, quite frankly, hasn't felt in a very long time . As if something that happened that day had left him at this rather dazzled state of mind. Fe felt a slight, yet cold breeze run down his neck and decided to head home. No bars, no aimless wandering tonight. Just home, scrambled eggs with sausage and bed... and work, tommorrow he's gonna get a job.
