In this world, society believes that every secondary gender has a person that they are meant to be with where:
Alphas only belongs to Omegas
Omegas only belongs to Alphas
Betas only belongs to Betas
Any relationship outside these expectations is considered unacceptable. A Betas loving an Alpha or an Omega is considered as a taboo in the society. Even if the love is genuine, society believes that a Beta can never truly belong in a relationship with an Alpha or an Omega. This belief and the pressure surrounding it play an important role in the story.
PHEROMONES
In this world, only Alphas and Omegas can produce pheromones. Their pheromones can carry and express emotions, allowing other Alphas and Omegas to sense feelings such has anger, fear, distress, comfort, attraction, or desire. Betas cannot produce pheromones. However, Betas can sense pheromones. The difference is that while Alphas and Omegas can often understand the emotions behind another person’s pheromones, Betas cannot clearly identify or interpret those emotions. To a Beta, pheromones may simply feel like a strong presence, pressure, warmth, comfort, or an unfamiliar scent but they cannot always understand what emotion caused it.
PREGNANCY
In this omegaverse:
Omegas can get pregnant regardless of their biological sex.
Only female Betas can get pregnant.
Male Betas cannot get pregnant.
Alphas cannot get pregnant.
ALPHA + OMEGA can produce ALPHA and OMEGA where, the birth rate of both the sub-gender is 50:50. BETA + BETA can produce BETA, ALPHA and OMEGA where, the birth rate is 60:30:10.
