Summary

Nordic Noir with an Aussie twist. Australian Police Superintendent Adam Andersen is transferred to Norway to arrest a serial killer who is using the methods of previous murderers to commit his crimes Who is the Copy Cat serial killer? Superintendent Adam Andersen fresh from his success in arresting a killer in Sydney leads the National Norwegian Police Crime Authority (Kripos) Team in Oslo to track down a serial killer murdering young female police officers. Each crime is committed using the same method of famous serial killers of the past. Is the killer mocking police procedure or trying to discredit Superintendent Andersen? Is the killer a hardened criminal with a deep hatred of the police? Or, someone from within the ranks of the police force itself? Interlinked with the narratives of the murders are accounts of sports events (swimming, cycling, kayaking, running, triathlons) that add another dimension to the tale. Each character has their own story to unfold as the tale progresses. Relationships are confusing, sex is sometimes seen as an end in itself. Trust is hard to gain and easy to lose. The murders take place across Norway and Sweden over a period of almost twelve months until finally, Superintendent Adam Andersen closes the trap and catches the killer.

Chapter 1

Diary. It wasn’t anywhere near as hard as I’d expected. The stupid bitch wanted more money. But I wasn’t having it. I knew where that would lead – to her wanting even more money. People often commented on the size of my hands. My coach called me Coal-Shovels and said I should take up swimming. When I slapped her across both ears her eyes nearly popped out of her head. She looked so funny. Just stared at me in panic. They say it only takes 1300 -1700 Newton metres of torque to break a neck. I know it only took a couple of seconds if that. That was the first. The thrill of watching the lights go out in the eyes told me that it wouldn’t be the last.

Hi JackCache,

I just finished reading your story Copy Cat and I absolutely loved it. The intricate plot, where a serial killer mimics infamous murderers, and the complex character dynamics, especially Superintendent Adam Andersen's pursuit of justice, create a gripping narrative. I kept imagining how dynamic it would be as a comic.

I was particularly struck by the opening scene in Chapter 1, where the killer reflects on the thrill of the first murder, describing the victim's reaction with chilling detail. The raw emotion and tension in that moment would translate beautifully into visual storytelling, capturing the eerie atmosphere and the killer's mindset.

As the story unfolds, the blend of crime investigation, psychological depth, and the interwoven personal stories of the characters offers a rich tapestry for visual storytelling. The contrast between the brutal murders and the athletes' narratives provides ample opportunities for dramatic visuals and character development.

I'm a commissioned artist, and I'd love to bring your story to life in comic or manga form. No pressure.I just believe your work would look incredible visually.

You can check out some of my recent artwork on my DeviantArt (Username – Ev3Verse). If you're interested, please message me on Discord (Username – Eve_verse) so we can discuss how to adapt your story visually. I’d be thrilled to collaborate.
