At 8:17 on Monday morning, everyone in Class 12-B received the same notification.

@SomeoneKnowsYou posted a new secret.

I would have ignored it.

Honestly, I should have.

But then I saw my name.

MAYA SEN.

My fingers froze around my phone.

For a few seconds, the classroom continued exactly as it had before. Chairs scraped against the floor. Someone was laughing near the window. The ceiling fan made that annoying clicking sound it had been making since August.

Nobody seemed to notice that my entire world had just stopped.

I opened the post.

My stomach dropped.

I looked around the classroom.

Nobody was looking at me.

Not yet.

Then another notification appeared.

I tapped it.

Who is she?

Third row? Maya?

No way.

I knew there was something weird about her.

My heart started beating faster.

I nearly dropped my phone.

Riya was standing beside my desk, holding two notebooks against her chest.

"You okay?"

I locked my screen.

"Yeah."

She narrowed her eyes. "You look like you've seen a ghost."

"I didn't sleep properly."

It was a terrible lie.

She knew it.

I knew she knew it.

But before she could say anything, the classroom door opened.

Our class teacher walked in.

Everyone hurried to their seats.

I slipped my phone into my pocket and tried to breathe normally.

Maybe it was nothing.

I didn't look.
