All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

Amara thought she was finally getting her happy ending. On her wedding day, she waited at the altar for the man she loved. But Daniel never came. Instead, she received a single message: “I’m sorry. I can’t marry you.” Heartbroken and humiliated, Amara promised herself she would never forgive him. Five years later, Daniel suddenly returns. He is richer, more powerful—and still desperately in love with her. But Amara is no longer the woman he abandoned. And when Daniel finally tells her why he left her at the altar, she discovers that their broken wedding was only the beginning of a much bigger secret.

CHAPTER 1 — THE EMPTY ALTAR

Amara stared at the church doors.

Every few seconds, she looked at the entrance.

Daniel was supposed to be there.

Her wedding dress felt heavier with every passing minute.

“Where is he?” she whispered.

Her father looked at his watch.

Guests began murmuring.

The music had already stopped.

Five minutes became ten.

Then twenty.

Amara's hands began trembling.

Her phone suddenly vibrated.

She looked down.

One message.

Daniel: I'm sorry. I can't marry you.

Her heart stopped.

“What?”

She read it again.

Then again.

Her father noticed her expression.

“Amara, what happened?”

She couldn't answer.

She simply handed him the phone.

A terrible silence filled the room.

And then someone screamed from the back.

“Daniel is gone!”
