Where Devation Rots

Before there were rival companies, unanswered messages, and a future she couldn’t afford, there were two jersey numbers—and Mara Voss wore them both.

At Blackridge University, deep in the storm-dark Colorado Rockies, Mara—Nyx to those closest to her—is building a future in robotics. Brilliant at a debate podium and relentless in the laboratory, she has always counted on two people to show up: her brother, Damen, and his best friend, Alek.

They have never asked her to choose.

Until one hockey game destroys their friendship.

Neither will tell her the whole truth. Both expect her loyalty. Nyx walks away from their feud, determined to build a life that belongs to her. But distance does little to quiet the nightly messages, the visits, or her own jealousy when she imagines either man learning to live without her.

Years later, two doctorates and a potentially groundbreaking development bring Nyx to the edge of everything she has worked for. What she needs is funding.

Only two viable offers remain.

Damen Reid Voss and Tersoo Alekander Udu.

Now powerful founders of competing technology companies, both can give her research a future. Working with either means letting him close again. Working with both means bringing an unfinished rivalry into the heart of her life.

Nyx enters the negotiations with demands of her own. She has spent years hiding how fiercely she wants them both—and she is finished allowing their silence to determine what she can keep.

As professional obligations become personal entanglements, old loyalties turn dangerous. Beneath the jealousy lies the truth about the night that divided them: a truth neither man can reveal without risking the place he still holds in her life.

And Nyx, who has built a career on asking difficult questions, may finally have to hear an answer she cannot argue away.

Set against rain-soaked mountains, brutal winters, and the unforgiving ambitions of elite sport and emerging technology, Where Devotion Rots is a gothic dark romance about forbidden attachment, fractured friendship, and three brilliant people discovering how much damage they can justify in the name of love.
