Summary

She's the blade no one sees coming. He's the empire built on blood. Neither of them does mercy until they do it for each other. Mara Knox answers to no one. Trained by loss, sharpened by every job she's ever taken alone, she's spent years making sure her name means nothing and her word means everything. Independence isn't a choice for her it's survival. Cassian Blackwell controls everything in his city except the one night a stranger slipped past his security, completed a hit under his own roof, and vanished before he could learn her name. He's spent weeks trying to find her. He wasn't ready for how it would feel when he did. When Mara saves the one person Cassian would burn the world down for, their paths collide for good and neither the empire he runs nor the walls she's spent her life building are built to survive what happens next. Thorn and Steel is a slow burn dark mafia romance about power, loyalty, and the terrifying risk of letting someone see exactly who you are.

A lot of continuity errors, she leaves her car in town/at college and then it's at home the next morning. She helped him out of his...

jo987_123: This is a good story, but it needs a good editor to go through this iteration and fix the mistakes. The pov changes from 1st person to 3rd person, often, and sometimes within one sentence. It needs a liberal sprinkling of punctuation marks throughout, and a decision needs to be made about the char...
