SYMPHONY: THE GAME UNTOLD

All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

THE SYMPHONY He was given no class. The system should have given him nothing. Instead, it gave him access to everything. When Symphony, the most advanced virtual reality game ever created, finally launches, millions of players enter a world where strength determines everything. Every player receives a Class. Warriors become masters of combat. Mages command devastating magic. Assassins move faster than the eye can follow. Summoners control creatures powerful enough to destroy entire parties. Your Class determines your future. At least, that’s what everyone believes. When Adrian Vale enters Symphony, the system analyzes him and gives its verdict. CLASS: NONE No skills. No abilities. No specialization. Nothing. To the other players, Adrian is nothing more than a defective player who got unlucky. But the system knows something they don’t. Adrian wasn’t rejected because he was weak. The system couldn’t classify him. As Adrian begins exploring Symphony, he discovers that he can learn abilities belonging to Classes that should be completely inaccessible to him. At first, it seems like a hidden advantage. Then the warnings begin. [Unauthorized ability detected.] [Player classification unstable.] [System error.] And finally: [The Symphony has noticed you.] Adrian soon realizes that Symphony isn’t simply a game. There are secrets buried beneath its world, secrets even the game’s creators may not understand. And the more abilities Adrian acquires, the closer he gets to discovering what Symphony was really created for. Because somewhere beyond the world that players can see, something is watching. Something that has been waiting for a player like him. And it doesn’t want him to reach the end.

# Chapter 1: Class: None

The day Symphony launched, the world seemed to forget everything else.

For years, people had waited for the game that promised to change virtual reality forever. Millions had already registered before the servers even opened.

Symphony wasn't supposed to feel like a game.

It was supposed to feel like another world.

Adrian Vale had spent months saving for his access device. Now, sitting alone in his room, he finally put it on.

The world disappeared.

When his vision returned, he was standing in a vast white space surrounded by thousands of other players.

A massive gate stood ahead of them.

Above it floated a single word.

SYMPHONY.

A voice echoed across the space.

"Welcome, players."

The gate slowly opened.

Everyone moved forward.

Adrian followed.

The moment he crossed the gate, a translucent blue screen appeared before his eyes.

[PLAYER REGISTRATION COMPLETE.]

[Name: Adrian Vale]

[Level: 1]

[Class Selection: Initiating.]

Adrian smiled.

This was the moment he had been waiting for.

Around him, screens began appearing.

[CLASS: WARRIOR]

[CLASS: MAGE]

[CLASS: ASSASSIN]

[CLASS: SUMMONER]

Cheers erupted throughout the crowd.

Adrian waited for his own result.

The screen flickered.

[Analyzing player...]

A few seconds passed.

Then another message appeared.

[Class determination complete.]

Adrian leaned closer.

[CLASS: NONE]

He stared at the screen.

For a moment, he thought it was a joke.

Then another message appeared.

[No class has been assigned.]

Adrian's expression changed.

"What?"

A player standing nearby noticed his screen.

"Hey. What class did you get?"

Adrian didn't answer.

The player looked at his screen.

His eyes widened.

"None?"

Someone else turned around.

"What?"

"He got no class."

Laughter spread through the group.

"That's impossible."

"Maybe his account is broken."

"Imagine waiting years for Symphony just to become useless."

Adrian ignored them.

He opened his character menu.

There was no Warrior skill.

No Mage skill.

No Assassin skill.

Nothing.

His entire ability panel was empty.

[CLASS: NONE]

[AVAILABLE SKILLS: 0]

[CLASS ABILITIES: 0]

He clenched his jaw.

The game had just started, and already he was the weakest person in the room.

But then his screen flickered.

For less than a second, a message appeared.

[ERROR.]

Adrian froze.

The message disappeared.

Another one replaced it.

[Unrecognized player structure.]

Then that disappeared too.

Adrian looked around.

Nobody reacted.

Nobody else had seen it.

He looked back at his screen.

Everything was normal.

[CLASS: NONE]

He stared at those two words.

Maybe everyone was right.

Maybe his account was broken.

Maybe Symphony had simply failed to give him a class.

Still, there was only one way to find out.

A final option appeared.

[ENTER WORLD]

Adrian selected it.

The white space vanished.

A breathtaking city appeared before him.

Towering buildings stretched into the clouds. Massive creatures flew between enormous structures. Players filled the streets, testing their abilities and showing off their newly acquired powers.

Adrian stood among them with nothing.

No class.

No skills.

No advantage.

He took his first step into Symphony.

Far above the city, hidden beyond the reach of ordinary players, something opened its eyes.

A notification appeared.

[UNIDENTIFIED ENTITY DETECTED.]

Another followed.

[PLAYER CLASSIFICATION FAILED.]

Then a third.

[RECALCULATING...]

The system paused.

For the first time since Symphony had been created, it didn't know what to do.

[WARNING.]

[THE PLAYER SHOULD NOT EXIST.]

Adrian continued walking.

He never saw the messages.

He never heard the warning.

But something had already noticed him

And it was watching.
