Chapter 1
April stood at 5ft, with long brown hair, a curvy body, brown eyes, and a plain face. Her figure though curvy, was also very plump.
She was 28, though she really didn't feel like it. Her knees hurt from the many jobs she worked. Though she was always trying to hammer down a profession, it felt impossible. Over the last decade and a half, she had been in fastfood, grocery, nannying, house keeping, janitorial, personal assistant, and more.
She lived in a inlaw suite she found on craigslist three years ago. Nothing fancy, but enough to have a little piece of space. April wasn't what anyone would describe as fit. She weezed when she ran and she could barely run. She wanted to be stronger, but she didn't have thr time. When she did have it, she felt stuck. Like she couldn't make herslef move to do anything she wished she could do. Of course her lack of finances contributed to her problems. What little money she made wemt to her bills, food, and savings. But when she lost a job or had to quite, those savings were used. She spared a few hundred a year to her family.
It wasn't much, but she tried. She had a sister who was homeless sleeping in a car and her mom and brother also lived in a inlaw suite in town. Her dad and his third wife had a kid a few hours away. Thry never needed financial help compared to April. But she still made sure to be there to watch her little brother for emergencies and be at every family event. She really loved all her family. She just didn't have the means to care for them and even if she did, she knew they would abuse it. Well some of them. Most of the family had shund her a few years ago for not being like them. Religious, wealthy, republican. I showed no signs of the three and that was enough to throw away years of memories.
'Like im garbage. Every one throws me away if I can't conform. I tried to. I guess it wasn't worth it. Im not worth it.' I walked leaning on my shopping cart to my car. It was 9:45pm at night. The store was about to close. I just got done watching some kids, so i have my work clothes on. 'I can't wait for a shower. '
As I unlocked my car door I felt it. Arms wrap around me. Pulling me. I screamed. Dug my short nails into his arms. I couldn't move, but I had to. Something bad is happening. I have to move... so why can't I? A cloth is suddenly pressed to my face. I hold my breath while and drop all my wait to my lower half. The man falls forward smashing his face into my open door frame. "Shit" he says in low voice in shock. One hand goes to his face and thrbother stayes tightly around me. I hear someone else coming up.
" Will you knock it off. Just make her inhale and let go. Ill grab her car." That was it. A quick punch to my gut had me exhale and inhale. 'God I'm so stupid...' was my last thought.
"Do you really think this is a good idea? That this is how we should have gone about it? She has no idea where she is and now her first impression of us is getting kidnapped." Callum was standing there with his arms crossed glaring at us.
I can't blame him. It was a stupid idea. One he went along with. '
Whats wrong with me? Its like i was possessed as soon as I saw her. Drake could have suggested any way to get her to come with us & i would have fallowed. Now ive kidnapped her and Drake has punched her...'
"Shouldn't you be yelling at us?" I asked.
"There's no point. It won't change anything. You've bothed fucked up. We can't change that. All I can do is try to figure out how to fix this and hopefully it goes without saying, but neither of you can go near her."
"THE HELL WE CAN'T!" Drake was standing now.
" She is a person. Our mate. You BOTH just took her. You didn't ask her name. You just kidnaped her. She might be completely traumatized when she wakes up!" Callum held an unwaving authority in his voice. One not expected as the youngest. But right now he wasn't acting like his care free laid back self. He was acting as a mate should. As I should have.
