A pounding at the door shot Becca’s head up before her consciousness caught on with it.
Daylight. Clothes and underwear strewn across the bed and floor. A dried stickiness between her legs and a strange, salty aftertaste in her mouth.
Puzzle pieces and atmospheric clues that weren’t falling into place for her. She gaped and blinked against the sun streaming through her north window.
The door’s impatient query pounded again. “Becca, if you don’t open this door I’m going to stoop to using the house mother’s key.”
Vera’s unmistakable vocal fry, but why did the thought of her barging in make Becca’s heart pound?
Becca snapped her attention to the down comforter enveloped bulge to her left. The picture of what led to her current state clicked and her heart went into overdrive. Peter! Peter stayed the night!
“Shit, shit, shit!” Becca wiggled out of her sheet cocoon to shake at Peter’s sleeping form. “Peter, get up!”
Her palm sank into unresistant softness and stopped her short of reasoning with the silhouette anymore.
A peel back of the comforter revealed nothing but a pile of pillows.
“Becca? Who are you talking to?”
Becca’s panicked pulse levelled out and she was struck dumb with another ripple of confusion. “Uh, hold on! I’m not decent yet.”
Peter might as well have been a part time ninja for how smoothly he slipped in and out of her dorm and life without making waves, but she was curious how he did it, and how early he had chosen to leave.
“Decent? Girl, don’t hit me with that bullshit. I’m opening the door now.”
With a little less haste than her baseless shake of the covers next to her, Becca grappled the top drawer for an oversized t-shirt and threw it over her head.
If she had been left with the generosity of a few seconds more, she would have checked her face and hair in the mirror to make sure she didn’t look like a static electricity fried lunatic, but Vera was good on her word and barged right in.
It wasn’t ideal timing and Vera’s face switched from its usual petulant expression to a tentative smile that built the more she looked over Becca’s dorm room.
Becca followed her gaze, a thread of anxiety ready for some remnant of Peter’s presence that the two of them had overlooked.
Both sets of eyes noted Becca’s clothes leading up to the bed, a pile of textbooks by the nightstand and....her bullet and anal vibrators in plain sight at the foot of the bed.
“Well, someone’s had a night, haven’t they?” Vera’s smile had elevated to a smugness that made Becca’s cheeks heat.
“It’s um...well, this is embarrassing. I’m not sure what else to say...”
Vera clapped her manicured hands over Becca’s shoulders. “Girl, chill. I get it. Just because you’re dating the campus stud doesn’t mean you don’t deserve a little me-time. We tell men differently, but at the end of the day no cock can compete with pocket sized horsepower targeted right where we need it. You should see my nightstand collection.”
“Heh. No thanks.”
“Well then, could you get a move on with your swimsuit? We can’t let those Chi Nu bitches get tanner than us.”
