After 12 Years

Year 421

Only a month had passed since the twelve-year war between the Heralds and the Dynastian Empire finally came to an end.

The war had claimed thousands of lives from both sides before its conclusion. In the end, Leon II of House Paramount defeated Kashin V of House Strombold, bringing an end to the bloodiest conflict of the age.

With Kashin's death, the Dynastian Empire became part of the Herald Empire under the rule of Emperor Leon Paramount.

People from Herald soon migrated to Dynastian in search of fertile farmland, as the lands of Herald were harsh and difficult to cultivate. Gradually, peace returned. The people of Dynastian, once bitter enemies, slowly began to accept Leon as their ruler.

That same year, Leon married Elsa of House Strombold, the sister of the fallen King Kashin.

To many throughout the empire, it became proof that Leon Paramount was the rightful King.

A year later...

Elsa gave birth to their first son, Zeus Paramount.

On that very same day, another child was born far to the west, within the walls of House Eidenmark.

Unlike Dynastian, Eldervaine had never become part of High Thalor, the united realm formed by Herald and Dynastian

Led by House Eidenmark, the people of Eldervaine refused to recognize Leon as their true king.

The blood of Eidenmark had long been known as the bloodline of warriors.

Their ruler, Baelor Eidenmark, stood firm after the fall of Kashin. He refused to allow even a single soldier of High Thalor to step onto Eldervaine soil.

To the empire, they were rebels.

To themselves, they were loyal.

Baelor was married to Wasia of House Otheryn, and together they welcomed a son...

Edrin Eidenmark.

PARIS IN THE DARK

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel

Loved, Loudly

Merrell Bunting: Well written, kind of quiet story, I enjoyed it. I am still a bit perplexed over whether this was a second chance mating story with choosing or completely a chosen mate story. If it is a chosen mate tale it leaves one a bit worried about a fated mate showing up. Either way it was a nice read.

Bloodlines

lblomme: I always love a story where good overcomes evil. The sad start, the growth, and ultimate strength of the main character was well done. The story never lagged and ultimately delivered a happy ending even for characters who were less than stellar. Well done!

Silver's Second Chance

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.
