Exciting :)
"Overall, it is an exciting read. I agree with another review that mentioned the dialogue needing a bit of work. There are also strange jumps from past to present tense that need to be sorted out. But despite some technical aspects that need to be fine-tuned, I enjoyed the first three chapters and look forward to the rest."
Promising Beginning
"This is an engaging, very fast-paced opening of a story that could easily spin into a full=-fledged novel. The story seems equal parts X-Men and Steven King (Carrie, Firestarter, etc.), focusing on children being sought for their unusual powers--or in this case, a twin who is mistaken for her more remarkable sibling. The short chapters keep the action moving along, and the author writes with a great sense of pace and drama. The narration is especially good, very tense, and creates a great tone/mood for the story, Right now, the story feels more like a movie than a short story or novel (nothing wrong with that, necessarily) in that it doesn't slow down to examine character or give us much backstory. But these are early chapters, so much could change. The dialogue sometimes reads a little stiff, and at times the characters say things that seem more expository (that is, for to push the action along rather than something that would need to be said). I might focus on using dialogue more sparingly, or to delineate character rather than simply for plot points (but you don't do this often). That said, I think this is a great beginning and I can see this really paying off in future installments as we get to know the characters and this world better. Keep writing!"
