"Cold Comfort was a total surprise. I didn’t expect to be sucked in right from the beginning, but I was. I didn’t expect the writing style to be so fluid, but it was. I did however expect the punctuation and grammar to be just a bit off, and to my surprise, it wasn’t! The story is filled with lots of action so it moves right along. The characters are well written. So much so, I felt like I was hanging out with them. Ben wasn’t a hard nose PI, but he knew his stuff. Sara, his woman, did annoy me a couple times, but I eventually got over it. If I had to say who my favorite character was, by far it was T.J. Just by reading this book, one can tell that the author is well read, has seen lots of movies, and done a lot of research to write this book. If that is not the case, then I would be inclined to believe that the author was or is a PI/former cop himself. Kudos if all of this is research, because I can tell a lot went into it. Long story short, this is definitely one of the best books I have read on Inkitt, and I will put this one on my short list of recommendations. I have read quite a few books here, and I try to review all of them, good or bad. This is one of the great ones. Congrats, and thanks for the awesome read."
