Chapter 1
The frost nips my cold, filthy feet. My blanket covered in mud as always. My gloves torn so my fingers pop through consequently making another part of my body freezing. The fire, distinguished from the snow. I'm sitting under the shade of a fallen oak, on my own, In the cold. The snow blanketing the land. It will be impossible. I haven't had a meal in a whole day! How I wish I was back in my pack. Even living with the humans would be better than this. This is going to be a hard winter.
I sit up hoping to see the face of my brothers and my mum and even my dad. Instead I see a river. A flowing river filled with cool water as well as fish and a refreshing place to relax in the summer. I have been here only two moons and already I am suffering. Hastily I stuffed my bag full of game from last summer. I got ready to move on before my pack comes. They always come here. They will probably stay all winter, spring, and summer. However they will move again for autumn because of the winds.
In the distance I can hear them. The alpha, Faolon. I could tell his howl from a mile away. How had this happened? I am but One year old and already by myself. Last I remember was losing a fight. Although my first clear memory was of my wolf mother returning from the recent hunt.
