Chapter 1
“Hey! You get back here, you thief!” A mall cop who’s too fat to chase me properly yelled after me. (Not to be mean but he is very unfit compare to my friends and I).
“Nah I think I prefer running than get caught because I doubt you’ll catch me anyway so I’ll see you later sucker!” I yelled back to him.
Then I see fit mall cops come and back up the one originally chasing me, he smirked at me and stopped running. I pushed myself faster, and then out of nowhere two people ambush the cops. I made my getaway quickly, I make it to my car, then I wait for my friends who ambushed the cops get in and I know you are all wondering why I would be stealing anything when I could buy anything I wanted well you see I only steal because it’s fun for the chase, let’s rewind back to this morning.
“Hey girl wants to go ‘shopping’?” Cassie asked cheekily. (Her way of shopping is stealing and me going back later to pay)? (Full name: Cassandra Sarah Cameron).
“Sure I’m up to being chased, let’s get the other girls then we’ll go ‘shopping,’” I said happily.
“What’s got you so happy?” She asked.
“Nothing, I just really want to go ‘shopping,’” I said.
“You never want to go because we always make you run when you’re obviously more fit than us, and even the guys agree your more fit” she said.
“So just because I workout more doesn’t mean I always have to run, when I will most likely go back and pay for it” I said.
“That’s exactly why I don’t know why the mall cops won’t just give up,” she said.
“Are we going or not? ’Cause if not I’ll go by myself,” I said.
“We have to be there otherwise you will get caught without us there to stall enough for you to disappear” she said and grabbed her stuff.
“Right, you guys just have to be there to stop them, when I can clearly lose even the fit cops it’s not the first time that I’ve done it by myself” I argued.
“Lil, let’s just get to the point, you may be very fit doesn’t mean you can out run all the cops, don’t you think that getting arrested would anger yours parents?” Cassie asked.
“No, well I don’t know I never asked about it and I don’t think they be surprised if I did though” I said considering my parents are assassins, and my older siblings always got in trouble.
“Why? Because you’re older siblings got in trouble?” She said.
“Basically, but I haven’t been arrested and neither has Jillian, she’s the good child, considering that she married a multi-millionaire and she has kids” I said.
“Oh yeah, I remember now, let’s go while it’s not busy” she said.
I drove to the mall, after picking up all the girls to go “shopping” in other words I get exercise twice this week.
“Okay now that were at the mall where to first?” I asked.
“Hmm... let’s go to Forever 21, then go to the food court ’cause I didn’t eat breakfast” Mel said.
“Mel you never eat breakfast unless you have your boyfriend cook for you or someone mainly you can’t cook worth shit,” I said laughing.
“True I can’t cook to save my life plus I’d prefer to live not die young, and I love Travis too much to leave,” she said. (Full name: Melanie Eliza James.)
“You better love me ’cause loving you would be pointless if you didn’t love me back” Travis said from behind us scaring the crap out of me. (Full name: Travis Lucas St. Claire.)
“Jesus, don’t do that Travis,” I said putting my hand over my heart.
“The last time I checked Jesus is not alive and you girls wanted to go shopping, you go shop and we’ll meet in the food court and us guys we’ll pay,” he said.
“Okay, see you guys in the food court” I said pulling the girls with me.
“What are you hurrying for Lily?” Taylor asked. (Full name: Taylor Marie St. Claire, yes she is related to Travis their twins.)
“James and Jade’s birthday is coming up and they will both be home, home with me as well with the rest of the siblings and parental” I said.
“What’s the theme this year?” Rose asked. (Full name: Rose Kate Thompson.)
“Surprise party I believe I don’t know, Jill’s suppose to be planning this year,” I said.
I looked around and saw Zach, we used to be best friends, now were enemies, and he’s in a gang a very dangerous one, we both work for the same people and we sell and deal drugs, we race occasionally and party but considering I’ve been sick for two weeks I haven’t been out in a long time, Zach and I used to go out in freshmen year then all of a sudden I mean nothing, yeah we look out for each other from time to time.
“Hey look Lillian it’s Zach your Ex/ex best friend go say hi,” Claire said teasingly. (Full name: Claire Katie Brennan.)
“How about I stay right here or go over there away from Zach, or go look at girly clothes” I said nervously.
I walked away, from the direction Zach is going but he caught sight of me, then glanced at my stomach, oh I guess I didn’t mention that I’m pregnant with Zach’s baby, you know how I said I was sick for two weeks I lied, I’m two - three weeks pregnant.
I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and I know it’s from Zach, because I know my friends wouldn’t text me, plus they would call, because they are too lazy to type and Zach is worried about me all the time.
I looked at my phone quickly he askedyou okay?
I nodded and glanced at the girls, as if to say they are here, I’ll meet you later okay?
He glanced at my friends and then his friends that I just noticed were here.
After? I mouthed.
He nodded and we walked to where we were originally going to, he went to I think sports gear or men’s, I went to look for Jade’s present and tested Jill about the theme.
After I bought Jade’s I went to look for James present I bumped into Zach, I would have thought he left by now, his hand gently laid on my stomach, he said something that I barely heard.
“Meet me after you finish present shopping” he said quickly and quietly.
“Can’t meeting in the food court,” I said equally as quick and quiet.
“After shopping need to talk” he said.
“What are you doing?” I asked loudly so everybody could hear.
“I’m so-” he said, “actually you know what I’m not sorry.”
“We both know you are” I said quietly and covered with a laugh.
“We both know you are very right about nothing,” he said.
“No, at least I’m passing, and we all know who has the better mark” I said in an arrogant voice, even though we get the same mark most of the time.
“Ha yeah right I get the better mark, you just copy someone’s work” he said.
“Really now? Since when have I copied anyone’s work, let alone your work?” I asked sarcastically.
“Oh I don’t think you’re as smart as your friend or family thinks” he said, he may look like he’s being vindictive, he’s hurting when he says those things to me.
“I’d be careful Zachary with what you say to me” I said seriously, and he knew he went to far this time.
“You went to far Zach, let’s go Lily you can finish shopping for James after lunch” Cassie said.
“Lil, I need to talk to you please,” he pleaded after they left.
“You took that too far Zach, way too far and we agreed after, Oh that’s what I’m going to get James, bye Zach” I said, waved and grabbed what I’m going to get James.
“You’re being bipolar Lil, come on what can I do to make this better?” he asked following me.
“Zach, I’m pregnant, you need to watch what you say, and how you can make it better is by coming to James and Jade’s surprise party” I said.
“Won’t your friends be there?” he asked worried.
“Yeah, but they usually show up drunk” I said.
“Doesn’t mean they won’t remember, why don’t we just tell them that we didn’t break up? I mean my friends are curious why I don’t date,” he said.
“You can tell your friends, but leave my friends out, they aren’t curious why I don’t date, they don’t even know I’m pregnant, heck my family doesn’t even know” I said.
He gulped when I said my family doesn’t know of my pregnancy.
“You didn’t tell them yet why not?” he asked sad.
“Zach it has nothing to do with you okay? It’s just my family can be scary” I said.
“I’m not scare of all of them just the ones who can hurt me, very seriously” he said.
“You’ve got to meet the sometime and they won’t bite,” I said teasingly.
“I should go, before they come here to find me and wonder why you haven’t beaten me to a pulp” he said.
“I’m wondering that too” I said fake serious and we both laughed.
I went to the tills to pay for both presents and when I pulled money out it was pushed away and I looked at Zach questioning look.
“I’m paying because of what I said earlier and ’cause, I want to, plus it’s the best I can do” he said and walked away leaving me speechless.
I slowly walked to the food court, and out of the corner of my eye I saw Zach, I continued to look for my friends, I saw them, they were still getting food, then I felt someone put something in my hand, I looked and it turns out to be money, looks like Zach is still making it up to me.
I walked by Jay, who stopped me on my way to get my food.
“I saw that Lil, be careful who you trust” Jay said.
“I’d be careful; of who you talk to Jay, you maybe my friend, but don’t threaten me” I said.
