“You ready for tonight, babe?” Grey asks me while he ruffles my hair. I pout.

“Tonight. 6 pm. Valentino’s downtown. Yes, I got it,” I reply mentally checking the list. “I’ll be there.”

“Just making sure,” Grey kisses me on the cheek before slipping on his shoes, “I’ll see you tonight.” He winks and then he’s out the door.

My cheeks heat up. Man, he really knows how to make me blush.

It’s now a quarter to six and I’m outside Valentino’s waiting for Grey. Today is Valentine’s Day tonight and Grey said he had something special planned for tonight. I’m excited to see what it is. Valentino’s is small but fancy restaurant downtown. It’s where we had our first date and also where we had our one year anniversary dinner. This place has always been a special place for us.

Finally, I see him. He’s wearing a black button down, black slacks, black shoes, and a black bowtie. Every aspect of his outfit is black and I love it. His curly hair is just the right type of messy and his glasses keep sliding down the bridge of his nose. God, he’s so cute.

I feel slightly overdressed in my gray suit, but I know he’ll love it. My hair has been styled effortlessly into a perfect quiff and my makeup is flawless. Grey always mentions how he loves it when I wear makeup. If things go the way I think they’re going to go tonight I want to look amazing.

I jump out of my car and meet him on the sidewalk. I bow, “Oh my, why don’t you look dashing tonight?” I smirk.

His face heats up and he casts me a nervous smile. “You look rather handsome tonight as well,“.

I grab his hand, “You know just how to flatter me, babe,” and wink.
