Chapter 1: Memories Can Fade Away

Tears trickled on my cheeks. “Tae Hyung, are you really breaking up with me?”

“Yes. I still can’t understand why I’d fall for a lunatic like you. Wake up, Eun Ha. Live a life.” he said, throwing the cupcakes I baked him.

“Why did you become like this?! What did I ever do? All I did was give you my love.” I said.

“Eun Ha! Stop! I... I fell in love with someone else. Someone better.”

Wake up Eun Ha. That was the past.

“God! Yu Min! Stop this nonsense.” I said, flicking her phone away from me, wiping away the little tears on my eyes.

“BTS!BTS! OH MY GOD!! TAEHYUNG!!!” she screamed, watching a newly released music video from BTS. So, Tae Hyung is back in Korea. And he’s famous too.

“Yo, Eun Ha? What happened to you. You lost your aegyo. It’s your first time listening to BTS!!! Gosh, you think they’re hot too, right?” Yu Min said, fangirling on my bed.

I sighed. “I don’t have a time for your stupid nonsense. Go home. We have a test tomorrow. We’re at the final year of college, Yu Min. I don’t want to mess this up.”

I made a cup of coffee, just as Yu Min was leaving. “Night night, Eun Eun!!!” she waved goodbye.

I sat on my bed and pulled out my phone. Ho w can Tae Hyung ruin a simple college girl’s life so much? I need more information.

I started browsing the internet for Kim Tae Hyung. There were many results. Concerts, Solos, Photoshoots, Fangirls. They were literally everywhere.

He used to only dream of playing the saxophone. I giggled. I remembered that Tae Hyung who’d waste his money for buying those instruments and he’d sign up for classes, but he never really gets it.

He would tell me that he’d play the saxophone on our wedding. I smiled faintly, remembering him.

But that’s not going to happen anymore, Tae Hyung. We’re in two different worlds now. I hated to see you leave. Or cry. Or feel lonely. I just always wanted to be by your side. To be your tissue when you tear up. Or your pillow when you get tired of your homework and suddenly fall asleep. I just wanted to be there for you.

I guess you didn’t want me to be there. I guess you didn’t need the tissue. Or a pillow. And you don’t want to play the saxophone on our wedding anymore.

I miss you, Tae Hyung. I need you, Tae Hyung. But you don’t.

Tae Hyung POV

I stared at the picture of Eun Ha on my phone. Tears started swelling. I couldn’t tell her I was leaving. I hated to hurt her feelings. I hated to call her a lunatic. I hated to tell her I love someone else.

“Hey look, Tae Tae is tearing up again!” Jimin shouted and pointed at me.

“Boyyy.... It’s that Eun Ha girl again.” Jungkook giggled and leaped toward me.

“Aisshh, mind your own business,” I said, shooing them away.

“I heard she’s pretty.” Suga said to the other boys.

I stomped off the room, why would they be so nosy?!

“Yo, Tae! You so emotional, man” Jung Kook said, watching me leave the room.

I went to the kitchen and gulped down some water. Stop it, Tae Hyung. Stop thinking about Eun Ha. She’s happy with her life now. She doesn’t care about you. Or think about you.

She’s a flight attendant now, she’s traveling around the world.

And I thought I could play the saxophone on our wedding. I couldn’t. I’m too weak, too imperfect to become hers.

Eun Ha, remember me. Please do.

" V!! Start packing for tomorrow’s flight!!” Jimin shouted.

Right, I have to go and do that.

Eun Ha POV

I straightened up my uniform. Today, I’ll officially be in a flight. I’m a flight attendant. I smiled at the mirror. You can ace this, Eun Ha.

I fixed my hair, tidying it to be flawless.

“EUN HA!!!” a voice cried. It was Yu Min. She was already in her uniform and ready to go. “Come on, Eun Ha. We still need to go to the airport.”

We rode in her car. She started playing BTS songs, and I would be alert during Tae Hyung’s parts. I gulped at the sound of his voice. I really do miss him. Hearing his voice makes me want to cry.

“Yu Min!! Stop this deafening music!” I shouted and changed the music.

“Hey!! It was Jung Kook’s part already!!!” she cried at me. Soon, we arrived. I carried our bags out of the car and headed for the V.I.P. Immigration.

“It’s good that our school sent us on a V.I.P. flight”.” Yu Min said, looking at the fancy interior of the lounge.

“Yes, it’s quite amusing.”

“Hey, Eun Ha, are there always crazy fangirls by the wall of the airport gate?” she said, pointing at fans, shouting and screaming and taking out their phones.

“Wait...” she said.

Holy Crap. 7 boys walked in, all of them wearing black masks. And one of them... is KIM TAE HYUNG.
