Chapter 1- The Girl
Calvin looked up to see a blur coming at him. “Duck!”, it yelled as it flew at him. Looking up, he saw a man aiming a gun at the blur as it hit him. Sprawled out on the dirt, he saw the blur was a girl. The girl swept her hands over his chest and hips. This is a nice time to be fondled.
“I promise I’m ok, you can stop feeling me up,” he said watching the girl.
“Shut up and hold still, where the hell is your gun?” she muttered at him as she continued to roam her hands over him. Lifting off the ground some he pulled it out of the pancake holster at his back and held it off to the side.
“Why do you want it?” he said grinning up at her. Putting her knee to his crotch, she smiled and started shifting her weight down on him.
“Give me the gun or I crush your balls. Your choice,” she said smiling sweetly at him. Knowing she would have to take her weight off him to get the gun, Calvin lifted the gun above his head.
“Ok hotshot, if that’s how you want to play.” she dropped her weight on him and grabbed the gun as he shot up to protect himself. Swinging her arm around she aimed the gun where the man had been standing before. Empty space greeted her vision as she twisted around searching the trees. Growling, Calvin grabbed her waist and threw her to the ground.
“Try something like that again and-”
“Shut up. Do you want to lead him to us?”, she hissed. He looked around himself.
“Your lying, there’s no person,” he growled.
“And you’re stupid and going to get killed,” she said, trying to roll from under him. Grabbing her hip, he kept her still and looked around again.
“I’m stupid? I wasn’t the one feeling up some random guy for his gun,” he said, grinning at her. A gunshot rang out and Calvin’s eyes widened as he fell over. Looking up she saw the man and shrieked. Grabbing a rock she threw it at him and started crawling backward. The rock hit the man’s gut and he grunted as he continued towards her. He stepped on her leg and put his full weight on her.
“Next time stay where you are and this won’t be a problem,” he said as he leaned over and grabbed her hair. Yelling, she clawed his arm and swung the gun at him. Dropping her hair, he grabbed his face and cursed.
“Stupid piece of-”
“Drop the gun,” Calvin yelled as he ran at the man. Hurt and angry, the girl raised the gun and fired. The man stumbled and fell, raising a hand to his shoulder. Calvin, having heard the shot and thinking the girl had been hit, dove for her. Landing on top of her, he grabbed the gun out of her hand and fired two more rounds at the man. Looking down at the girl he realized she was covered in blood.
“Shit, shit, shit. I fucked up,” he muttered, frantically pulling her shirt up to see how bad it was. Blood was slowly seeping from a wound on her side. Realizing the bullet that had grazed him had also hit her but not as bad as he thought it had, allowed him to breathe normally again. Feet pounding the forest floor made him look up as the rest of his team came into view.
“What the hell was all the shooting? Did you find a bear or something?” Landon gasped, leaning down to grab his knees.
“More like a piece of ass. Damn man, what’d you do to her?” Tony said grinning. Flipping him off, Calvin rolled off the girl and grabbed Landon’s hand. Pulling himself up, he looked around. No one commented on the man moaning on the ground.
“I didn’t do anything but try to protect her. That guy came after her with a gun and I did my best to keep her from getting shot,” he said defensively.
“So, is she dead or were you just to handsome for her to look at?” Tony asked relatively bored. Landon threw his arm over Calvin’s shoulder and grinned.
“You have it all wrong man. He was just too ugly for her, look at this pathetic excuse of a man. He could have looked homeless to her, she was just too shocked to realize he’s mediocre in bed.” Landon said leaning on Calvin.
“No, don’t you know there’s a strip club down that way. It’s just past the fourth tree next to the rock. She said she wanted a wild night and was all for some fun, so I took her outside and she fainted. Guess the wild just isn’t for everyone.” He said, jabbing Landon in the side. Shaking his head, Landon picked up the guns and nodded towards the girl.
“We taking her back to camp or are we leaving her with him?” he said pointing the gun at the man.
“Hey, I promised her a wild night and she’s going to get one,” Calvin said, picking her up.
“Careful man, she’s bleeding,” Landon said grabbing his arm. “Let’s just get her to camp before the bears find us and her.”
“Haven’t you heard the only bear around here carries a knife and talks with a boston accent?” he said nodding towards Tony.
“Whatever, you’re the one who found her so you’re the one to fix her,” Tony said rolling his eyes.
