Prologue

Jake a domestic worker-house cook-is overwhelmed. The oppressive employer is becoming very abusive and stingy. The liberation war is soaring to unprecedented heights, having pervaded every corner of the country. From home comes a letter from the Freedom Fighters (Guerrillas) demanding his presence at a given ultimatum. In an endeavor to fight against the odds to out maneuver the dicey situation, Jake has his first encounter with real war at a road bloke, while going home in a conventional rural bus. At the road bloke are five Army Lorries, a Tank and sporty- green Tent pitched for shelter. Some soldiers proudly mil around the bus.

However, when the searching of passengers’ baggage is almost complete, from the blue, three fiery missiles blast the Tent, the Army Lorries and the Tank! Huge explosions erupt! Some fuel containers, canned food and human limps, fly into the air! Soldiers start shooting in the direction the missiles had come from! Exchange of fire increases! Passengers and the driver in the conversional bus seek refuge under the seats. Others just helplessly scream! Instantly, two soldiers burst into the Bus, shooting and killing the three passengers-one female and two males-who are screaming the most, urging the driver to drive away. The soldiers quickly drag those dead passengers out of the Bus. Then one soldier returns on to the bus, ordering the Bus driver to drive off, immediately.

Unfortunately, the driver cannot find the ignition key. He looks under the seat, nothing. Ditheringly, he searches his pockets and even shakes his trousers, but to no avail. Then that soldier impatiently shouts to the Bus driver, holding out a hand grenade.

“So you don’t wanna leave, eh…? This is gonna send you packing!” And he undoes the pin and hurls the grenade into the passengers while bolting out and ducks… Fortunately Jake and a few others break away. Jake returns from home safely. Meanwhile, the employer loses two cousins at the war front. Consequently, he grows into a habit of offloading his anger on Jake, calling him Terrorist. Subsequently he fires him from work, unceremoniously…and all – hell – breaks – loose…!
