Epilogue

Eyes, they are what show a person’s emotions. Pain, happiness, sadness, anger, etc. It’s all in the eyes. Eyes are what you see events out of, my eyes witnessed my parents deaths. I was only six. Six minutes of my life I screamed while a man beat my mom and dad before slitting their throats. My brother, Taylor, tore me off of the ground and dragged me away from the man, out of the house and into the car. Six hours were spent in the car, Taylor seemed to know where he was going. Six years, six minutes, six hours.

My mom had always told me I was special, I used to think she was just telling me she loved me in a different way, but she meant it literally. I was special, I had one ice blue eye, one pitch black eye, and a small black birthmark in the shape of a nine on my left hip bone, that was distinct against my light skin. I found out later that the nine meant I was the ninth born demon. Well half demon, my father was a demon who married a beautiful and kind sorcerous, and they made a child who was a mix of both. My older brother Taylor didn’t get any abilities, he was just a normal kid with a weird family.

The six hour drive passed quickly, I was numb for most of it. We had arrived at big, dark building. From what I remember we both cried, he pulled me out of the car and told me they would help me here, that there were others like me. He got back in his Jeep and left me.

The dark building was home to hundreds of warriors who belonged to a clan named Rose. All with special abilities. They took me in, trained me, taught me how to use my abilities. Over time everyone there had grown to become my family.

Lexie was in charge of everyone, she and her husband Orondy were like my mother and father, Twi, Orion, Mecha and Sade were all my siblings. It wasn’t the family I was born with but it was my family.

As I grew up I got stronger and stronger, when I was fourteen Lexie named me the official assassin of the clan. She said my summoning magic and sword skills made me the perfect candidate, I haven’t let her down to this day.

Eventually five years passed and my life was full of fighting, training and killing.

This is the Prologue not the Epilogue. Got really confused for a second, thinking I had already read the book without remembering.
