"I usually don't find myself so caught on the first chapter of a book. However, I found your story a very compelling page turner. I was immediately drawn in and wondered what the bars were, and what the abyss was. Here and there you have some typos, and a few grammar quirks, but overall it is very captivating. I did notice one thing, and that was by around chapter 2 I felt like I wanted a few more crumbs. It still kept me reading, but I started getting confused. However, other than that I want to see this story keep developing. Keep working on it!"

"I like the mystery it dealt on me when I read the few chapters. I was wondering what is in this world and why were things sort of like an 'otherwordly' kind of way. The pace was slow but I was waiting when it'll start to give out the thrill. Anyway, that being said, there were a few punctuation/spacing flaws, but with a few proofreading, it'll be fixed in no time. And we usually do this whenever we've finished our work and let people point out what's wrong with our writing, but never let it dictate the story. Cheers!"

"I really like what you've done so far. The story idea is great and you make me really wonder about all of your elements you've introduced so far (the marks on the arm, the bottom of the abyss). The story would be helped with some better descriptive writing though. You've got the elements for a great story, but you just need practice to paint your canvas so everyone else sees what you see. "I actually found myself on the edge of my seat anticipating what was next. This has great potential. First, this is Power Thesaurus: https://www.powerthesaurus.org/ I find it indispensable in my writing for description. It keeps me from using the same words over and allows a little more, shall we say, poetic license. Instead of saying "Night was falling" I can say, "The night wrapped her ebony shroud around the world." Second, this is the Cliff Note's on the book THE RED BADGE OF COURAGE: https://www.cliffsnotes.com/literature/r/the-red-badge-of-courage/book-summary I urge you to read it. Henry Fleming wrote it from his own experiences in in the War Between the States (Civil War) as a Union Soldier. His use of metaphors and similies are the most astounding, vivid and unique in literature. I have learned a great deal about descriptive story telling and creative writing just from his book. Third, this is website for FREE writing (creative and Grammar) at Universities such as Yale, Stanford, MIT. You don't get the college credit but you learn. Also Google FREE WRITING/CREATIVE WRITING courses. There is a world of help out there. You HAVE talent and imagination, you just need to sharpen your grammar, punctuation, and overall writing skills.
